High strung? Screaming?....yes! Cursing! Unequivically, NO! I have NEVER heard Roger utter curse word, on or off the field...even though I may have caused him to want to curse on many the occasion!

I agree with you DMZ. I don't recall Roger cursing either. And I also agree that you caused him (and Berta, and Petty, and etc., etc, etc. :D) to want to curse on MANY occasions.

Obviously neither of you have been on the golf course with him...I was just kidding about cursing on the field at innocent high school boys. I've known Roger all of my life and he is one of my favorite people. If only he had been able to have a few athletic kids!:D

Roger's favorite quote: Alright ( insert name here ) , you jerk !!!!!!

That explains why he eventually had to have knees surgery!

It could be from when he chased his yellow mo-ped down the hill at Death Valley.

You know..reading it looks kind of harsh...but Roger had a way of saying those type words (jerk, moron, idiot, et al) that I never really construed as anywhere near hurtful. You usually were being a (jerk, moron, idiot, et al) when he referenced you. I don't ever recall anger when he was using those words...mostly trying to play/bond with the guilty party. You knew when Roger was angry...and it wasn't through his words! :madman:

Just because your 50 percent didn't have a state championship, (as previously mentioned in another thread!:D) is no need not to "yea"!

You read me like a book! :thumb:

I had a run-in with a current assistant coach recently. He sure liked to swing fists first and ask questions later. Apparently, he's been in many altercations like this before. I'm surprised they keep guys like that on staff at such a high-class school

I am probably showing a bit of my age here, but what happened to Tom Duffy, Jack Eicher, and Bill Herrmann. Did they take jobs else where?

Duffy took the Henderson county job in 1994. As for Jack Eicher and Bill Herrmann I'm not for sure what happened to them after Highlands.

Who won?

Eicher went to South Laurel and had very little success.

Bill Herrman retired with 3 State Titles after his second son graduated in the Mid 80's
