There is talk of coaching changes for the Wildcats next year, does any one know for sure if this will happen or not? Is Hyder out after only one season? If so who would take his place?

Who is the Wildcats Offensive coordinater? IMO, Newport should get a whole new coaching staff. I think the front office needs to take a different approach to try to build a program to match their new field and new conference. No disrespect attended to anyone, I just think they need to try something different.

I have heard this too...I have also heard that there might be a slight possibility that Ludlow's coach Randy Borchers may express some interest in this job since there are a few at Ludlow that would like to see him go.

Coach Schlarman built up a program and when they hired the Coach Hyder they throw away everything that had been in place.They need to clean house and bring in a coach from the outside. Newport has the potential to bring a title home one day, they will not be doing it with the current coaching staff.

Newport has hired some wonderful coaches in the past. Mike Murphy, Roy Lucas, and Schlarman. What's his name don't count and I'm not talking about Hyder. I think that the front office should ante up and get a quality head coach and staff, and managers. BTW as far as I know, Mr. Hyder is a teacher and a wonderful baseball coach he should get the Varsity job when Grady Brown finally retires. No disrespect to anyone.

From what I know they were pretty young this year and had a lot of new guys getting there first taste of varsity action. They lost a lot of talent off of the 05 team that was 11-2 and it showed in 06 and 07. About 3 or 4 coaches on the staff have been there for 8 to 10 years now so I wouldnt say they threw away everything they had in place.

Who is what's his name?

Well I haven't really heard much about this Newport coaching job. However if they are looking for a new coach, then I wouldn't be suprised to see Steve Hensleys name in the mix. I know he was an assistant there at Newport for a few years. He also applied for the Newport job when it was open 3 years ago while he was still at ludlow, and from what I have been told was actually pretty close to getting that job. So I wouldn't be suprised if his name might be in the mix because he is a very good coach!

From what I was told the job is not even available. Im hearing Hyder will be back on the sidelines next year.
