Actually a good post except for that paragraph. Danville and New Cath have had to contend with each other since 1999. Until last year's last second loss, Danville pretty much has come out on top everytime against the Breds. They have been in close games but I certainly don't see New Cath as some new road block for Danville. New Cath may go on a tear but to date they only have 2 State Titles and haven't shown that they are a better program than the Ads. At best they are on equal footing but History (the since 1990 part that this thread mentions) shows it is very much one sided that Danville may dominate this Class in years to come.

I think I know you better than that. If you had your way, which you do most of the time, you would have the BIRDS playing 6 A and scheduling Cincinnati St. X, Elder and Colerain as fillers!

 

I think most of the Highlands fans enjoy and take great pride in the fact that the school is playing up two classes. I certainly enjoy the competition of 5 A football. Besides, not being in the same classification as Cov Cath would be disasterous to both programs.

 

You do know me better than that. I like the fact that we play schools much bigger than us and take a lot of pride in our accomplishments. But, it would sort of be fun to be in T's and X's shoes wouldn't it? Man, I bet we could really run off some titles.

Boyle, I'm not so sure about. They still are a little unproven to me since Smith left. From what I read on here, it seems if they turned the corner this year and played some teams tough. LexCath is a very worthy opponent and could be a hindrance to Boyle continuing to racking up a lot of championship. If you were to post that list in another 5 years, LexCath may be on it, so that would be some change.

I think scores and the eyes pretty much felt that the 2 consecutive AA titles Boyle had in '99 and '00 were won in the Regional Final and During the district matchups. Those were the only losses of the Knights for those 2 years and it was obvious that if Boyle did not have the teams they had, Lex Cath would have been AA State Champions in '99 and '00.

Jackson IMO there will be a team from S.E.KY that will have a lot to say about that for sure in the near future.

Maybe someone should look into creating a "seperate" playoff system for these teams so other schools could win a ring:lol: We'll call it the Haves and haves not system.

If you are talking Bell Co, they will not be winning one anytime soon. They did a good job getting away from the Northern KY schools but they found another monster from Lexington. Sorry Dudley, may have to try and find another class to play in.

I'm guessing Boyle, Bell, and Rockcastle. And I would agree also.

 

Now only 2 of these 4 teams can make it past the District, (Boyle, Lex Cath) and I dont Know about Bell and Rock. Preety sure district. Any fans correct me?

I think you'll find very similar #s with most states...Every state has there traditional 10 or so powers that take in alot of the trophies...

The top three, Now thats amazing Beechwood, Trinity, and Highlands they have won state every other year for the last 16-17 years. Pretty impressive!!!

You won't get an argument on the past. 2006 was the first time that NewCath had ever beaten Danville. That being said, NewCath was a missed extra point, and an underthrown pass from beating Danville in 2001. In 2000, NewCath was driving in the 4th to tie the game when Danville made a huge play and came up with a sack and a fumble that they returned 80+ yards for a TD. '90 was just a blow out in Danville's favor. So, since '90 the Ads hold a 3-1 edge over NewCath, but the last three games have been extremely exciting.

I wasn't disagreeing with how close and exciting the games would be. The original poster seemed to believe that NCC is the automatic top dog of AA. I was pointing out that was very far from the truth today or historically. As for pointing out the close games the same can be said for the 2006 game and one break that turns Danville's way vs. NCC and the ADs would have celebrated another title. It cuts both ways. I figured that 2006 was Karma payback for the close games in 2000 and 2001.
