What was Marvin thinking?

Featured Replies

I am really glad I fell asleep and didn't miss sleep for the Bengals mess.

It was disgusting. From head coach to ball boy, the game was mailed in. This team has quit. Whole staff needs to go. The Gals are now back to preMarvin and what do they have to show for it? One wildcard appearance in his 6 year tenure. Go Packers!

A division title...but yes your right.

So, who's the next Bengals coach going to be?? I would go after Jason Garrett (Cowboys) VERY HARD!!! He may not like being in the backseat to Wade Phillips. He would be my #1 priority right now!!!

Yes you are correct. How could I forget the one shining year in the last 2 decades:cry:

^ Marvin isn't going to be fired.

Think he quits? He has to realize this is not a good spot for him.

I think he made the catch, but I also knew there was no chance of them overturning the call.

The commentators were saying that because Chad wasn't demonstrative about it, he must have known that he didn't make the catch.

Thats what I thought as well.

I have watched thousands of NFL games and they are very strict on wide recievers having to possess the ball the whole time. If they drop the ball out of bounds its not a catch. Everyone in the NFL knows that rule.

^ The ground can't cause a fumble.

You missed that change of rule. Collinsworth went over it on Sunday Night about two weeks ago. WR's have to have possession of a TD catch through the catch, including AFTER hitting the ground. He showed videos of catches and non-catches because the ground forced them to cough it up.

I still don't think it was a catch, I haven't watched it since the first replay but I don't think he ever had possession. It doesn't matter either way though. By the way the ground can cause a fumble if not touched, I figure you know that but just throwing it out there.

The ball to Chad Johnson is obviously incomplete in the end zone. After a TV time out I had to question what Marvin was thinking when he threw the challenge flag and basically wasted a timeout, what do you all say?

A. I wonder how far I can throw this red thing?

B. Wonder if they have recieved my application at Michigan yet?

C. Maybe they changed the rule since the last game.

D. I bet the ref will overrule this, I have such a good track record of challenges....psych

E. I'll throw this flag and maybe get a better draft pick for next year.

Between the Bengals and Kentucky these guys are driving me CRAZY!!!:jump:

That one.
