A zone may have helped but it still wouldn't have stopped those careless turnovers.

 

I agree. The reason for most of those turnovers was SK had only 2 ballhandlers last night in Slavey and Barnes and the forwards were trying to bring the ball up the floor which is a mistake.

 

SK will be much better all around when they are full strength.

Coach Steiner doesn't really believe in a zone defense. He is all about man to man. Plus I agree with Neerfan, a zone wouldn't have prevented the turnovers.

 

Maegley did have a good game but he seems to be lazy at times and doesn't work hard to get position. Don't get me wrong I think he will be one of the keys to success but he needs to improve in this aspect and he needs to catch the ball better. I thought SK should have used him more which would have also opened up more shots from the outside.

I didn't say I agreed with his philosophy but I'm pretty sure that he would tell you the same thing, that he doesn't believe in a zone defense. They can't play man to man against teams like Holmes.

Agreed! He never has played a zone, and I don't know why he would switch the game plan up. SK will be fine when they get their experience back on the floor.

Sometimes as a coach you need to switch up the game plan to fit the type of personnel you have and who you are playing against. Even when SK is completely at full strength, they will not be able to play man all the time because they just don't have enough of the type of players to run this style for an entire game.
