LRCW Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Reds interested in Lincecum Cincinnati is apparently interested in San Francisco right-hander Tim Lincecum, but if the Giants insist on Reds outfield prospect Jay Bruce as part of any deal, look for the Reds to back off. Bruce, 20, hit a combined .319 with 26 homers and 89 RBIs in 133 games at three Minor League stops in 2007. The left-handed hitting Bruce is considered one of the team's cornerstones of the future. http://wintermeetings.mlblogs.com/nashvilleconfidential/
HOMELESS CAMEL Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Reds don't need him, they seem to possibly want to bring back Brett Tomko, now THAT'S the answer.
LRCW Posted December 3, 2007 Author Posted December 3, 2007 The Reds will not trade Bruce. I agree, but maybe they can get him for Hamilton and someone else.
saint4 Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 You have to give some to get some. Maybe Griffey AND Hamilton for Tim? He is the future of MLB pitcing, and he will be great one day.
stick1 Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Don't know much about Linecom anybody have stats? Is he related to Shawn?
saint4 Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 Don't know much about Linecom anybody have stats? Is he related to Shawn? He is 23. Last year: W L ERA G GS CG SHO SV SVO IP H R ER HR BB SO 7 5 4.00 24 24 0 0 0 0 146.1 122 70 65 12 65 150 In AAA, he had something like a .2 ERA one year. Fastball up to 100mph and people have likened him to Roy Oswalt.
HammerTime Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 Lincecum is going to be stud pitcher for a long time. I don't know about trading Bruce for him but anyone else prospect wise is game.
SvFan4life Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 A couple of writers from MLB.com debunks this rumor of Tim to the Reds.
stick1 Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 He is 23. Last year: Roy Oswalt. Enough said! That's at least a couple of games we wouldn't lose every year if nothing else:lol:
happy ol' dad Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 I would trade Hamilton and Freel for him....
Ms Liberty Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 I hope they do not trade Hamilton...so he was a little injury prone. It was his first full season of ball in 4 years. Why are all of you so quick to ship him off? After this year Griffrey will for sure be gone and he will be surely needed in the 3 hole. Trading Hammie would be one of the biggest mistakes the Reds would ever make. His potential is through the roof. If anything put together a package of Freel, Hatty, Staton, and Coffee, or something, just please don't trade a future .300 40 hr guy.

I really wish we could do what you are saying but it just doesn't work like that. You have to trade talent to get talent in return. A package of those 4 guys is worth about nothing.

It's a heck of a lot easier getting an OF than a solid SP...Hamilton will not be a .300 40HR guy either IMO...
