December 3, 200718 yr To me, Gillispie's substition patterns are simply a way of saying "I told you, I don't care who is supposedly more talented... I will play who works the hardest in practice." These guys will know this going forward and will put forth a better effort... Is it going to be ugly at first? Absolutely. It's not going to be a situation where Tubby benches his starters for the first 3 minutes of the game and they come in at the first timeout and still get all of the minutes. He is playing the guys who are getting it done in practice, and I applaud him for sticking by his guns. Dead on I think. If you don't do it his way, you don't play. This is how it should be. I loved when the fans chanted for Legion and he put him in for one trip down court then jerked him, somewhat to send a message. If as a coach you don't take control of your program you end up with team turmoils. I don't think we will have to worry about this with Billy G

December 3, 200718 yr Who cares about the outrage on a message board. If Tubby needed to do that to set some attitudes straight, he should have. I think that Tubby got aweful soft on discipline and now Billy G is trying to get it right.

Since most of them don't seem to have a conscience to point out to them when they have stepped over that line of good fan sense, someone needs to do it for them.

Meeks gives us another 15 point score and Jasper handles the ball to give Bradley room to roam. I know injuries are part of it. Just musing. Also, glad to see the Wildcats get very physical with the Heels. I just wished they had called as many fouls on Hansbrough as they did on UK's big men.

If Tubby would have done the exact same thing, there would have been numerous threads with hundreds of posts on it.

I heard something on one of the pregames that for his career, Hasbrough has more FT's attempted than FG's made or something to that effect. Basically, meaning he is great at getting to the line.
December 3, 200718 yr As a UK alum who does not care about basketball, when can we go back to the traditional Kentucky uniforms (updated early Pitino years)? I'm tired of the Nike look! Not sure how you could "not care about basketball" and live in Kentucky, but I believe we should go back to the cons blue uniforms of the mid 1990's....they were classic!
