I was looking back through some things, and I noticed that Trinity has shut out at least one opponent a year, every year since 1963 when they went 0-10. There have only been two years in the history of the program ('63 and '57) where they didn't have at least one shut out on the year. Last year's squad was dangerously close to breaking the streak, as they only shut out Oldham County.

 

St. X has had a 1st, 2nd or 3rd team All-Stater since 1973. No one else in Louisville comes close to that streak. Going back to 1934, when St. X had their first all-stater, they've had at least a 3rd teamer every year but six ('46, '52, '59, '70, '71, '73). In 73 years, they've had an all state player in over 92% of the seasons since.

Who cares! State championships is what I want to here about. Tell us about those.

The '48 team only had 39 scored on them all season. They were 11-0 playing teams from LA, MO, AL, TN. The average score on the season was 28-4. Their 1905 team only gave up 27 all year long, and they finished 8-2 on the season. Their 1908 team gave up just 18 points on their way to a 7-1 season, beating the likes of UK's JV team. 1936 team gave up 25 on their way to 9-0.

 

What about the 1897 team!? My Great-Great-Great Grandfather used to talk about them all of the time!:jump:

I believed 10- this was before playoff system in Ohio. Coach Lewis almost never wore long pants-no matter how cold! Always had the coaches shorts on.

 

Also amazing stats from Ohio- Moeller had 24 senior players go on to college football in 1981 and 27 senior players in 1982 for a total of 51 players on the same team that played college ball. I bet Crable wished he had that amount of talent!!

Trinity's first appearance was 1968. They've appeared in 20 state finals, winning 17 (maybe 18). I guess that means since 1968, every other year Trinity is in the Finals. :scared:
