Final

I was at this game. In the first half this game was VERY close. In the second half, Grimm ran the opening kickoff back, and that is ALL the offense could produce. Lincoln came out very balanced. Great coaching by Larry French.

Larry French and Mike Elkin did a heck of a job in this game....

This was a great coaching job by LC staff and the players deserve the credit for an outstanding team win. Johnson Central only ran about a handful of plays and Grimm hits the hole extremely hard but LCs defense started to pick up on their assignments in the second quarter and continued to hold the the JC offense.

 

 

On a side note the LC announcer has a lot to learn by some of the statements he made towards the officials and Johnson Central. I just think that the way he stated somethings was a bit unclassy.

 

I wish LC another week of good practice and good luck next week.

Super Proud of our Golden Eagles. Just to much to overcome... Goodluck next year Boys and keep the winning going.

Larry French can coach some defense!

Some random thoughts from the game...

 

- Lincoln County has no concept of the cannon. When they scored, it would be almost 2 minutes before they would fire it.

- The PA guy needs to learn a little bit about football. He made a comment on the PA system and everybody on JC's side couldnt believe it. Lincoln County threw a pass, a JC defender was in coverage, the JC defender broke up the pass. The PA guy said, I cant believe there wasnt a flag on that play.

- JC couldnt get nothing in the 2nd half.

- I didnt really agree with the name of Lincoln County's stadium... "death valley" it should be more like "death hillside"

First of all I want to say congrats to Lincoln Co. on the win. You all showed nice balanced offense in the game and made good adjustments to stop the run.

 

Johnson Central just couldnt muster enough offense to stay competitive throughout the 2nd half. The non ability to pass effectively, which was strongly contributed to both season ending injurys to Welch and Dials, aloud LC to stack the line and stop numerous plays in the backfield. LC made some nice adjustments at halftime and put this one away. JC was just had to many key injuries to keep at game at this level close.

 

Last of all, I want to say "Thank You" to all the senior on the Johnson Central squad. You all have helped to lay a solid foundation that will continue to compete for District and Regional Titles for years to come and hopefully in the near future a State Championship. You all will be sincerely missed but your contributions will long be remembered. Good luck and best of wishes to whatever you choose to do in life.

I was hoping that all JC fans would show class after the game...but for whatever reason that is not possible for some JC posters.

 

The loss of Ian Welch really hurt in this one...limited JC's passing game and opened up a lot of opportunities for Lincoln County. That is not taking anything away from lincoln County. They made the plays and stepped up on defense. They are an excellent team.

Excellent season JC!!! This group of guys have really elevated the caliber of and expectations for the Golden Eagles. This group of seniors will be missed. And the underclassmen have a lot to live up to.

Well "death hillside" was pretty rockin tonight.

I am talking about the PA guy at the game in the press box giving his "play by play" commentary. Not the radio PA guy.

 

He just made some comments that made no sense and had no right saying. Show some class and be a commentator and not just a hyped up fan in the box with a microphone where everyone could hear you.

 

I am glad that Lincoln was playing for a regional championship and glad that they won. They are the only area school that hasn't got much publicity such as Danville, Boyle and Mercer.

 

Congrats on the win, no need to rub it in the face of opponents that they lost, show some class Lincoln and prove people wrong next week and make a great effort and make an upset possible.

You are dead-on about the PA guy. He's awful. Too much talking. He turns into a play-by-play man over the loudspeaker and does it all the time. The higher-ups at Lincoln County really need to address this.

 

As for the cannon...its also terrible. Against Garrard County, Lincoln County scored a safety. The teams had already talked to coaches and Garrard was running forward on their free-kick when the cannon sounded. I think the Garrard kicker wet himself! The referees actually called a delay-of-game penalty, which was the right call.
