Has the NFL reached its peak? On a downward trend compared to NBA?

Featured Replies

The NFL is getting as bad to watch as the NBA, its just bad, bad football teams week in and week out.

There might - MIGHT - be 5 teams that are good football teams New England, Indy(injuries), Dallas, Pittsburgh(bad loss today), and Green Bay(untested).

Is this the parity that was wanted or has it turned into a nightmare when 1-2 injures all but make teams unwatchable?

The NBA is global, with the influx of foreign players and the Chinese element.

There is renewed interest in the East thanks to Boston and the Bulls.

Don't watch then. There are a few teams that are painful to watch but it's not as bad as you make it out to be.

I don't know, he has somewhat of a point. It isn't near as fun as it used to be to watch and I've watched for a lot of years.

QB play is atrocious and with some of the scores as low as they are, its not defense is just bad football. Some of the games today with high and low score totals were not fun at all....................

NFL cannot grow global like other sports because there is no players to draw from.

Not really, forget about them. Pro football isn't near what it used to be.

Not near the excitement, think Dallas vs Steelers in the seventies for instance.

Not reacting to that - 21 teams are .500 or worse, including the entire AFC West - and Detroit, Tampa Bay, Seattle, and Tenn. will probably be there at the end of the year.

Colts/Pats has become every bit as good as what you remember from the "Glory Days". Too bad much like the 49ers/Cowboys rivalry in the 90s we don't get to see it in the SB. Packers are a great story. Lions are a great story.

The only thing different is one team is clearly better than the rest...

How is that different from any other era? Back it up with some numbers to convince me...

My biggest problem with the NFL is the lack of games to watch on Sunday. Saturday is wayyyy more fun to be on the couch with the remote than Sunday.

I see nothing wrong with the NFL...Look at the Lions and Browns..Both pretty bad teams but have been improving...Look at the Hawks they are always horrible and up until a couple of years the Clippers were always bad...The NBA is no where near the NFL and I'd much rather watch a Browns vs. Lions matchup rather than a Hawks vs. Clippers and anyone that says otherwise might need to see a doctor!

The NFL is still the premium pro league. The NBA has a few great matchups on a weekly basis but every week in the NFL is anticipated. Like SVFan stated, plenty of teams in the NBA are poor, year after year after year, at least the NFL can provide worst to first type results.

Sunday Ticket.

I think both have their ups and downs, it's all a cycle and that is why college sports will always reign supreme.
