Fans aren't really close. On the home side, the bleachers sit into a hill, which elevates them above the field. The visitors bleachers are at ground level. The home side is very big, but not a great deal of seats on the other side. There is a track surrounding the field that gives you a good view if you can't get a seat.

 

The field is grass. It looked really good during the first round game, but last week the turf looked a bit worn. There had been some rain in this area earlier last week.

I suspect there will be a big crowd. Lincoln usually supports their team well. One thing that will help Lincoln is that none of the area teams (Garrard, Danville, Boyle, Rockcastle, Pulaski) are still playing. This game will draw fans from a big area.

Johnson Central used the Bermuda Grass until they went to the new field turf, So they should be used to the grass/mud field.

I have been through Stanford a few times before, and Lincoln County has a nice stadium with fairly ample seating. It is nothing like the "Death Valley" that everyone in EKY knows about. It is much more visitor friendly than Belfry's old stadium.

 

It is actually quite a nice setting as it dips down into sort of a pit. They seem to keep the field in good condition. Bleacher-wise and seating-wise, I would compare it to Shelby Valley; except Shelby Valley's stadium is bigger.

 

Stanford is a quaint little town with a handful of fast food restaraunts. Nice pople from that area too.

 

One thing that should be considered, with this being on a natural surface, very well could be the weather this week. It ain't looking pretty right now.

The field conditions very well could effect the outcome of this game, but JC has played in bad conditions and played well. Now matter what the conditions, you still have to love the idea of being able to play a game with the possibility of white stuff on the ground. If the current weather stands as predicted, I believe this game could very well hinge on who wins the turnover battle.

Moreso than anything, with the two styles of the teams playing, the battle in the trenches will be put at a PREMIUM with the expected condiitons.

Lincoln Co. has good line play on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. JC will have to play well to match up.

Lincoln County quarterback Levi Rogers needs 35 yards passing in this game to break the Lincoln County single-season passing record (1,492 yards) set by Scott Montgomery in 1982. Rogers currently has 1,458 yards on the season.

 

Montgomery is now the Principal at Fort Logan High School, which is an alternative high school in Stanford.

The information I had was that he was supposed to have an MRI yesterday. I have heard nothing other than that.

No common opponents and I doubt that anyone has seen both teams play other than on film.

 

This on is kind of hard to make any kind of reasoned and objective pick. I bet the voting is along loyalty lines more than anything else.

The lack of a kicking game catches up with the Golden Eagles in this one.
