November 14, 200718 yr Upset after he'd just been robbed of about $400, Wade Nassar grabbed his gun, ran around the counter of his downtown convenience store, flung open the door and emptied his gun at the fleeing robber. "I meant to kill the dude," Nassar said Monday, a day after he celebrated his 61st birthday at his Clermont County home. Video from 12 News. http://www.local12.com/mediacenter/?videoId=21650 This guy is really something, listen to this interview from the Bill Cunningham show yesterday below. After the pocast starts, move the player just past half way to hear the interview. November 15, 200718 yr Author Nobody has an opinion on the guy? I'm kind of surprised. Do you think he should be charged?
November 15, 200718 yr I work one block away from this place. what's scary is i walk by his place on my lunch break, i must have missed this robbery by about five minutes. Im glad i wasnt in the line of fire or the grade school kids that are located right next to his store. Tough call about being charged, he was robbed but I dont know if he should have emptied his gun in the middle of the street chasing after the guy.
November 15, 200718 yr Author Even the police can't shoot at a criminal fleeing in the street, can they?
November 15, 200718 yr I didn't read it but it sounds like he should be charged to me. I agree. What if he had hit someone other than the assailant? Wouldn't have been much of the hero then.
November 15, 200718 yr THis is exactly the type of situation that shows the downside to concealed carry. You get an emotional person make a potentially lethal irrational decision and goes John Wayne. It can't happen . He should absolutely be charged.
November 16, 200718 yr Charge him I suppose, but I don't blame him a bit. I can't stand a thief, robber, or their like. If he had hit the robber with one of his shots, it would mean one less scum on the street.

November 16, 200718 yr Unfortunately -- at first one might say, "good for him" or "enough is enough" but in all reality one must agree that a lot of wrong could have came out of his actions. Some could have gotten hurt that was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Now I ask, what if he would have shot the robber -- what then happens in this event.

November 16, 200718 yr Not a fair assessment, he doesn't have a conceal carry permit. The gun wasn't even licensed. So if he had a CC permit, he would not have been emotional about getting robbed and chased the guy?
November 16, 200718 yr Author So if he had a CC permit, he would not have been emotional about getting robbed and chased the guy?Proper training may have kept him from doing so. I can't say for sure, however.
November 16, 200718 yr Proper training may have kept him from doing so. I can't say for sure, however. I've never shot a gun. I've never been trained. If I had one in my pocket and a guy attacked/robbed me, no amount of training would control my rage.
November 16, 200718 yr I understand him for being upset about being robbed but discharging a firearm in the manner he displayed is very risky and irresponsible. IMO he should be charged. This could have become a much larger story if a child or innocent bystander was hit by the gunshots. If the incident (shots being fired) took place inside the store then it become a whole different situation and I support his decision to defend his property and himself. The sad part is that this world has become a cesspool for criminals who place everyone's life at risk when they committ these crimes. I wouldn't be surprised to see the criminal file a lawsuit against the store owner.
