November 17, 200718 yr Get the heck out of Cincinnati The guy's trying to make an honest living and some punk who does not want to work come's in and hold's you up. It's terrible this happened with school kid's around. As a parent I would be upset too, I'd also get the heck out of that neighborhood. Crap, they are robbing older women at Kroger's and Walgreen's Latonia KY in broad daylight!! GET A JOB!!! I need to stop now. You sure in the heck don't see this in the news. My brother works at the Lationia Krogers, and some criminal broke into his car in the parking lot at 7am, stealing his CD player.
November 17, 200718 yr Author Absolutely correct here, to obtain CC permit a "law abiding" citizen must go thorugh a screening process (background checks, any police records, etc.) and a Classroom study and testing as well as on the range "hands on training" by professionals. Where a crininal goes through none of these things.....that is why them call them criminals and not law abiding citizens! I have always said..."A gun has never killed anyone, it was the idiot that pulls the trigger". IMO a CC carrying "law abiding citizen" is a responsible one and are trained as such in the proper handling of a weapon. People love to "confuse" the law abiding citizens with the criminals to somehow justify their dislike for guns.
November 17, 200718 yr What's he got to do with CC, he doesn't have one. How is CC a problem? Show me some stats, cause I can show you plenty of stats disputing you. RTS - I don't need the stats that I'm positive you can produce. However, I think its highly illogical to think that someone who could easily have gotten a permit would suddenly change their ways. This is downside to CC.
November 17, 200718 yr Do you have any links that show where a person with a CC permit was involved in an incident. I am sure their are cases where that has occured and it normally gets all the press where the good guy sometimes goes unoticed. There are many cases listed on the NRA web-site where a CC holder used proper judgement and protected his family and others around them. The CC permit is not the problem as you have suggested, the individual is. Its naive to believe that a permit in this guy's pocket was somehow going to stop his emotions. NRA website? Please.

This is downside to CC.If it were a downside to CC, there would be stats. CC recipients are extremely well trained and don't just whip out their gun whenever someone ticks them off.

Stats are irrelevant to the discussion. I know there are positives to CC. However, like everything, there are negatives. This type of scenario is one of them.
