Juniors Playing JV???

Featured Replies

And, I will also add that, the juniors that were cut are probably good enough to go to alot of the other schools and play on their varsity team. And, I am sure that the other schools would love to have the girls on their team. I think it is great that Notre Dame always has the numbers, but some of the underclass girls may see what is happening to the junior girls, and may decide not to try out next year for fear of not making the team.

Or NOT enroll at Notre Dame as a freshmen.:scared:

There are many views flying around so I mind as well throw mine is as well.

I know for a fact that Highlands and Conner both had the majority of their starting 5 for JV were juniors. When you have talented seniors who are going to play the majority of your varsity minutes - how are these juniors able to get the game experience that they need? PLAY JV!!!!

When those seniors are gone, the juniors will have to carry the team the next year and will be unprepared if not given the opportunity.

I don't agree with it. You would only cut a junior if they were not good enough to play JV- that is why they call it "JUNIOR VARSITY"- if there is a huge class of sophomores that is more talented, maybe but not as a absolute rule.

The attrition with girls as they age through high school is high- 10 can very easily be 3 the next year- then where are you?

Highlands is really even in a stranger position. They will probably have three sophmores that play varsity only, two of which will probably start. The JV team might be all juniors with an exception of maybe one or two.

I think that ruling makes no sense. What happens when you are loaded in the Sr class, your Jr's can't play JV, and get very little PT on the varsity level due to depth. I guess you better hope your Jr's are very motivated and that you also have a loaded sophmore class.

Some programs are too small to make cuts. You keep everyone that comes out and hope you get some talent in the gym!!!

You'll see maybe 4 frosh playing JV.

????

I heard that during the NDA vs Walton Verona JV scrimmage game the other night, that because of the lack of Freshmen and Sophomores dressing for the NDA JV team, Juniors dressed and played for NDA! Now what is the official word, are Juniors going to be playing JV or are they not? Odd that the three Juniors who were cut were told one thing and then saw Juniors playing JV...... Kind of sad indeed.......

So, old guy, how did Notre Dame do again Walton Verona. Who are some of the top players this year for Notre Dame? I can think Jackson and Tierney, who else?

Yes, there are schools that can't afford to cut anyone. For some schools, it is hard to even field a freshman team.

I can think of one NCC.

That has to be wrong. The thread reads that the coaches were pretty emphatic that juniors were not going to be playing JV.

RE: seniors automatically making the NDA team. I don't see any seniors on this team that do not deserve a spot. Not all will start but I fully expect all to contribute.
