October 30, 200718 yr :laugh:..I think you may be right Trust me I am, 2 words Cade McNown:thumb:
October 30, 200718 yr Ryan is not better than Tebow The thread is about the Heisman Race, not the best player.
October 30, 200718 yr Okie dokie... But I really don't see Boeckman in the mix even if Ohio St goes 12-0. Now if you could give it to an entire defense then it goes to Ohio St's but IMO Todd will not be in the mix. I concur wholeheartedly
October 30, 200718 yr I concur wholeheartedly :scared: That kid wont even sniff NYC for this years Heisman!
October 30, 200718 yr Mark it down, Ryan will be a clip board holder in the NFL for his entire carear Mark it down, Ryan will be a clip board holder in the CFL for his entire career.:ylsuper:
October 30, 200718 yr I would put Dixon #1 and Ryan #2 right now. Although really I don't think either are the best players in the nation, but they are leading their teams to great records. Tebow has dropped off as well IMO. I believe Michael Hart's injuries have really cost him a shot at it because of what he was doing for his team when he went down.
October 30, 200718 yr I said it at the beginning of the season and I'll say it again....Matt Ryan is going to be the best pro out of the QBs in this year's draft. If it weren't for his injury Mike Hart would have it wrapped up IMO....At this point I'd give it to Dixon.

October 30, 200718 yr I think the front runner now is Dixon. But don't count out Brohm or Rice. A bad team is not a killer for a heisman. Paul Hornung won the Heisman while at Notre Dame, and his Irish team stunk. He beat out the likes of John Brodie, Johnny Majors and some dude named Jim Brown.
October 30, 200718 yr The thread is about the Heisman Race, not the best player. I thought the best player was supposed to get the Heisman.Man am I all mixed up.Matt Ryan would not have made that comeback if the guy on the front line hadn't got the onside kick for him.He is probably the leader at this point but a lot can happen before the season is over.

Ryan or the guy who recovered the onside kick?

That's what they say, but we all know it doesn't work that way. It's a very rare occurrence, IMO, when the true best player actually wins the Heisman. Clear examples: 2006 - Troy Smith 2003 - Jason White 2001 - Eric Crouch 2000 - Chris Weinke 1997 - Charles Woodson 1996 - Danny Wuerffel 1992 - Gino Torretta At some point in history it may have really worked that way...they may have actually voted on the very best player. However, nowadays it is typically limited to the best players on the best teams...a few guys with big numbers might get invited, but the guys who are there on an undefeated or top 5 team are the ones who get the trophy. So, IMO, it's a rarity these days when the best player actually wins the Heisman.
