Sorry, my way of being funny. You commented how much better Dayton is playing, like Beechwood hasn't improved at all since playing Dayton. Well, let me tell you a little secret. Beechwood is ready to go, it's playoff time and this is why they have lifted wts since last Jan and conditioned so hard all summer. I am sure others do the same but this is the best conditioned team I have watched at Beechwood in several yrs.

Dayton started lifting as soon as there season ended last year, and i see them as in just as good condition as any team in there district. I agree Dayton must play there best game but it can be done. :fire:

To add on to that Daytons kids must be in better condition because most of there players dont leave the feild. They play offense, Defense, and special teams. They play pretty much the same 11 all game, with the exception of one or two postions, and some special teams. So Beechwood might seem in more condition than Dayton but take in consideration the depth of Beechwoods roster compared to Daytons. :thumb:

And so is every other team in the playoffs.

Sometimes the improvement on a team that is playing well is not quite as noticible, while the accomplishments of a mediocre team seem to stand out.

 

Dayton has shown they are more than a mediocre team this year.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head. I would also say that LCA is the favorite, Pikeville I would give a close second, and the two left that have a shot are Raceland and Hazard. Good job, for not being close to the situation.:thumb:

I think Franfort took it to LCA in the preseason?

I am for our district team, but I don't think they can pull it off this year...

I look for FHS to sneak in this year and bring many suprises.

Tonight Hazard should have made believers out of a few people when they defeated a good LCA team 41 to 21. :banana: This well coached Bulldog team came back from an early LCA score and took control of the game, scoring at will in the first half while their defense held the Eagles time after time. I feel this game had to impress a few doubters and will only serve to add more confidence to this team as they begin playoffs.

What kind of team is Hazard i just saw that they are the only undefeated 1A team and was wondering what kinda of threat they can give Beechwood???

That is great! I know for a fact that Beechwood 2 platoons! Wake up, they play the same kids the whole game also w/the exception of a couple spots, so what is your point.:fight:

Well, I see your point, but you can't use that as an indicator because when play any team it's about how you match up with them, not the common opponent. As for LCA, if Raceland is fortunate enough to get by Fairview, I think they match up well with LCA, which is a passing team. Raceland has held their own against passing teams. Also, they had six starters out when they played at LCA earlier in the year...makes a huge difference. Three big plays killed them earlier at LCA, and those starters being out was a huge loss (starting backfield plus two LB's and a lineman). They still would have a huge task, but i like their chances with everyone healthy.

Im a Raceland fan, but they've been hurt by the pass the last couple of weeks. Russell and West both used the pass to beat the Rams. If Raceland doesnt start playing better fundamentally, they may as well get ready for basketball. Get up and smash Fairviews' running game. Also, I think Raceland should take advantage of how Fairview always trys to jump the passing routes. Double move plays should reap huge gains for the Rams.

Hazard is a quality 1A team, but IMO nowhere near the level of Beechwood.

 

The Bulldogs have arguably the 2nd best player in 1A behind EJ Fields in their QB Olinger. His brother was Jon Olinger who played WR Cincinnatti. Olinegr has the baility to kill you with his feet, but he is also among the state's leaders in passing yards. They have a pair of excellent receivers in the Meehan kid and Michael Campbell,, Campbell is aphsyical speciman and is dangerous in the open field. They also ahve a quick little tailback. The Bulldogs definately have enough skill personnell to give any 1A team fits, but their line play is definately less than stellar.

 

In my opinion it is going to come down to Hazard and Pikeville out of the East, I see both of these teams being equal. If Hazard played Pikeville's schedule they too would 7-3 with losses to LexCath, Belfry, and Pburg. The Panthers have the skill players to match up with the Bulldogs, and they also have revenge on their minds. last season Pikeville spanked Hazard in the regular season by 4-5 TD's, just to see the Bulldogs shock them with a last second field goal.

Tyler and Jon(Cinn. then drafted by Falcons) are not brothers, they are cousins. Tyler's brother Durrell went to K state and I think he is going to transfer to Eastern. Tyler's dad and Jon's dad are brothers.

Beechwood does not start nearly as many people two ways like Dayton. If someone from Dayton needs a break they must send a much less talented younger kid in. Beechwood has plenty of depth and has many players that can hop in at any point in the game.

I think Cumberland has a better shot at beating Hazard than anyone from District 6.

 

Think so??? Didn't LC just lose by 4 to the same team that you are saying will have trouble with a team they (Hazard) beat by 20??? Match ups are different.
