October 23, 200718 yr Heaven is going to be the most fun place you’ve ever been. There will be shouting, dancing and rejoicing. (Even for Baptists… ) There will be "fullness of joy." I have no doubts that Heaven will be populated by more animals than we can ever know or imagine. I can’t say whether Ginger or Flippy or Corky or Poppin or Snickerdoodle or Butch or Leo or Miss Kitty or any of our family pets will make the journey, but I can state without a doubt that Heaven will not be a boring place. I'm sure there will be a Baptist shouting like the dad in Python's "Holy Grail" : "Not dancing! No Dancing and Rejoicing. Stop it!" As to the 2nd part: I can't believe Ginger will be there before Mary Ann. :thumb:
October 23, 200718 yr As to the 2nd part: I can't believe Ginger will be there before Mary Ann. :thumb:Mr. and Mrs. Howell had better start giving... or get on a crash diet... Mt 19:24 - Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." Mr 10:25 - It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." Lu 18:25 - Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
October 23, 200718 yr I do not think Animals have eternal souls that will pass from this life to the next. Animals are not in need of salvation (from what?) and they are not capable of understanding having a relationship with God. Although they are definitley capable of love and devotion. This part of my post seems to have given some reason for pause so I'll try to elaborate, although it is a hard thing to put in to words. Do any of you think any animal understands that he was created, that God is his creator, that he is separated from God because of his sins and that he needs salvation from those sins through God's grace? That was really my point. If animals are in Heaven, it won't be on the same terms as Humans. They don't have eternal souls and they don't need salvation. Much like was stated above, so is the same with humans who are incapable of understanding because of mental deficiencies, etc. And the scripture teaches that those people are covered by God's grace, like little children. If they are there (animals), it will be God's choice, not the animal's choice. Not many to nitpick with you Watusi  Please, nitpick. I have learned so much by talking to or reading after people who disagree with something I believe. Moreso when I state my opinion without doing a thorough study of the scripture first. Thanks for the comments about mansions. I'm going to study that more indepth. There is a real danger in speaking in cliche's and generalities because we sometimes are only passing on man's traditional ideas that have no basis in scripture. So please, set me straight whenever you get the opportunity. I wan't to be truthful and just, but sometimes I stray.
October 23, 200718 yr So when they dig your grave, are they really just excavating for your mansion's foundation?
October 23, 200718 yr If my dogs that I've lost along the way are not up in Heaven waiting for me, I'm going to be peeved! I have no doubt my grandpa is up there with the German shepard he bought me playing fetch, waiting for us to get there and play with them.
October 23, 200718 yr One of the things that I have heard throughout this thread is the me, me, me, me aspect of Heaven. The focus of Heaven is not going to be us.
October 23, 200718 yr This a subject that bothers me, , I have a grandson that cannot understand the meaning of God, what happens to him? He cannot do any harm nto anyone so he is innocent of wrong doings. Dogs are so sweet ( most of them ) they are here to please us , protect us and be our companion there must be a better place for them also. I have loved my dogs and I love my dogs now.
October 23, 200718 yr What about all those Dobermans named Satan or Diablo? It would be sort of awkward to call your dog in Heaven if you weren't carefull what you named him.
