Mercer moving up to 5A has nothing to do with it, not getting back into old news, but last years Mercer team could have beaten anybody, with the exceptions of maybe a Trinity, St. X or Male.....hands down, no question.

I am still not willing to concede a Lincoln County loss to Mercer County in 2006 but that is something that we will never know..........

I guess "could have" are the key words in your statement.:thumb:

Rockcastle's defense, seems to be solid at times but the offense, hasn't been productive, other than against McCreary and early on.

Any ideas, what needs tweaked.

Rock was shutout by Bell County, however, their offense wasn't bad. They moved the ball well and had a lot of yards, they just didn't punch it in the redzone bottom line.

Lincoln County has shown the state that they can play D, they just shutout a stellar PC team, ROck threw them a TD and lost 12-2. Same story, Rock moved the ball very well just idn't punch it inside the 20.

Knox Central, scored on the second play, played real tough D and Rock played worst than most fans had ever seen. Credit goes to Knox Central for making them play like this.

haha. That would have been a heck of a ball game, but you're right, noway to ever tell. I know what WE can agree on though, is that between Lincoln County and Mercer County, they had 4 RB's between them that might have been the best in the entire state...and I don't think anyone across the state would have wanted to play an 'All-Star' team made up of the two teams!! Staffs included....Jaggers handling the offense and French handling the defense?!?!? Are you serious?! :scared: :thumb:

If Rockcastle walks in thinking it's no problem, they will be in for a rude awakening. Mercer is a good football team, that is very physical.
I did not mean that ROCK will walk in there thinking we got this made. I meant if the team went in there and played hard nosed smashmouth football that the ROCK is known for then yes I can see them doing very well and hold their own ground against Mercer and play just as soild and give them a run for the money. It will be which team who wants to win the most will come out on top!!!

True

I can assure you that they're not going to do that. Some people on here from Rockcastle County don't speak for the entire group.

I am not up on Rock like I should be, but I thought some of their losses came when Coach Larkey was trying to figure out what he was going to with his offense after injuries. This ought to be the game of the week in this area, Mercer, looks to have some of their offensives woes figured out and Rock does too. I peeked at poll results before I posted and it was dead even 50/50, which is where I think this game belongs!

I know this is hedging, but I just can't see one team having a clear advantage.:creepy::creepy::creepy::creepy:

Do you have a record with Harrodsburg? Since there was a merger of the two I was wondering if the Rock had a history with games vs. the old Pioneers.

I think it will be a close game, but I will go with Mercer Co.
