If Dayton comes out and plays how they can, they should handle them. But they best not get overconfident.

 

That said, this is senior night for 17 guys that have busted their tails turning that program around for the past four years, so I would expect them focused.

When was the last time Newport had this record ? The past three games Dayton has dominated opposing teams Lloyd 46-14, Bellevue 35-8, Brossart 56-0. I think they continue this trend with Newport. :thumb:

Newport showed a lot of life last week when they had Holy Cross on the ropes, but Dayton is having a very good year; and I expect them to continue their winning ways. I won't be surprized if this is closer than predicted however.

Dayton's wins over Bellevue and Lloyd were definitely big wins and on paper I would agree that this year it would appear that Dayton would have the upper hand.......BUT, when it comes to these two schools I don't think that matters much...The Seniors at Newport have never lost to the Devils! Combined score the last three seasons is something like 124-32 in favor of Newport!!Should be a good, hard hitting ball game, but I'm sticking to my guns..

I would look for a close game. Newport has been playing well as of late and with their record this year, pride will be a motivating factor. Dayton has already secured the #2 position in the playoffs. Surely, they would look to work on some new things, stay healthy and prepare for Bellevue in the first round.

Last year Dayton only lost 14-7 or something close to that.

Newport has been playin much better as of late they seem to come together in the HC game but I have heard they have lost there QB Housley to a hand injury and the QB spot has been a question spot all year,should still be a good defence game but I got to go with Dayton I don't know if they have a kicker so could get the win by a 2 point conversion.

No kicker, just get lucky every once in awhile and make a PAT.:lol: They have improved on PAT, I think they made all of them last week, and when they played Bellevue they didn't not do horrible on the PAT kicking so it is coming along with the season.

You're right, it was close last year at 13-0!! I think it will be close again this year...
