October 11, 200718 yr Author He has plenty of room to improve for sure, but he's already made some big strides and he looks pretty good to me. So what if he had a bad game against Atlanta...Romo had a worse game against Buffalo...does he stink too? Don't get me started on Romo....... Really, don't like him either.
October 11, 200718 yr Something that occurred to me, that i feel is very interesting....the "heralded" class that all of these kids came from are mostly struggling. It truly is interesting: Mario Williams - actually playing very well Reggie Bush - exposed Vince Young - wins, but ugly Matt Leinart - nothing special LenDale White - fat, and horrible All that matters at the end of the day.

He had a great year last year and this season is young. Bush has only played one game as a featured back. I really think he is one of those weapons that you better know where he is every play as opposed to a featured running back. He leads the league in going down on first contact. I still think he is a phenominal player but he is better as a scat back type player. To me Bush is along the lines of an Eric Metcalf or Dave Meggett. Dangerous everytime he touches the ball but maybe not a feature every down back. I still think it's too early to say he is a bust as a feature back though because he has only done it for one game. He has gotten better at making the one cut running more North/South when he's in the backfield. I think if he was in a zone scheme he might be even more scary ala Broncos etc.
October 11, 200718 yr 90% of the defenders in the NFL are super fast....he has some serious learning to do, NOW.
October 11, 200718 yr He really is.....kind of weird...he is almost in the same position as a pure option QB in the NFL....I really think Reggie is best suited as a returner and a lock down CB.
October 11, 200718 yr Yep, same as Devin Hester. I think he'll end up being if he sticks out the hard ships that will come with trying to find a position.
October 11, 200718 yr FWIW, I think Vince Young = Michael Vick. Poor passer regardless how strong an arm Terrific runner, team will lead the league in rushing like Atlanta did Will win games via escapability from trouble Will never win it all, superior defensive teams will always prevail I also think that VY is a classier kid, and of course that's easier to say since the dog fighting issue, but he seems to be a more humble kid and is great for the league IMO. He's just not what I'd want as my QB if I had the choice.

I am amazed how you guys are piling on players that like Young and Bush. Bush was overrated going in simply because people were acting like he was going to be the best running back ever. But what Vince Young has done in the NFL has been very impressive IMO.
October 11, 200718 yr Tell that to Dennis Green, Marty Schottenhimer (sp?) and such. He'd have been gone in most franchises for far less a drought. First things first, Jeff Fisher hasn't acted as crazy as Dennis Green did in Arizona. Also, unlike Shottenheimer (who definitly should not have been fired!) he has won in the playoffs before. Besides its not Fisher's fault that Steve McNair could not stay healthy his last few years in Tennessee.

Besides its not Fisher's fault that Steve McNair could not stay healthy his last few years in Tennessee. That has never been a deciding factor where coaches are measured. Fisher hasn't won, you can like him all you want, his percentage speaks for itself. With regards to players injuries not being his fault, look at other teams who have struggled because of injuries, and I'm sure it wasn't their coaches faults either yet they have changed coaches. I'm not saying Fisher doesn't deserve to be coach, only that in other situations, he'd already be broadcasting on CBS. The Titan faithful act as if he's a perennial COY candidate, his winning % / playoff appearance record doesn't bear that out. The NFL is a "what have you done for me lately" league by and large, and he's been blessed to be with a franchise that doesn't subscribe to that, otherwise he'd be sitting next to Chris Collinsworth on Sundays.

October 11, 200718 yr Author Okay, then let me pose you this query,,,,,,Will you feel the same if they finish 8-8 this season and 9-7 next season and miss the playoffs for 2 more years? :thumb: If Marvin Lewis did that, people would want him out. But since, for whatever reason, people think that the Bengals are so talented (which their not, look at their defense)and the Titans have no talent (which they do, look at their defense), it makes Marvin a bad coach and Fisher a great one.

I don't care that Tenn has no big names at WR, ATL's receivers could not catch the ball, except Crumpler.
