Not bad. Take out the 6 INT's in last game and it doesn't look that bad. Also the Colts played two very, very good defenses, and they are playing without their top Wide Receiver, best Tight End, their replacement wide receiver, and their left tackle (IMO the primary pass blocker) was a 3rd string practice squad player, because Hugo and his replacement were hurt.

 

Either way, just those numbers are much better then Vince Young.

I've said he isn't a leader ever since his 6 for 50 performance AND starting a brawl on the practice field. But, I was told I was wrong by some...

Not bad. Take out the 6 INT's in last game and it doesn't look that bad. Vince Young's stats aren't good. I'm aware of that. I'm also aware that he's a second year QB in his first full season as a starter...he wasn't as polished a passer coming into the NFL as most, but the raw potential is there. Only the most optimistic of fans would have expected him to transition without any growing pains...you guys are writing him off a little premature, IMO.

 

Also, since you want to throw out excuses for Peyton Manning not having his top WR and best TE and blah blah blah...why is it not taken into consideration that even without those guys, the weapons he's surrounded by are far better than what Vince has? (And no, I'm not comparing VY to Manning...) The point is that his primary back is LenDale White...an improving second year player, but he's no Joseph Addai and he's not a pass catching back. There is no one on his receving group even remotely close to Reggie Wayne...David Patten, Justing Gage, Eric Moulds, Roydell Williams, Bo Scaife, etc...I'd say take Wayne out of the equation and Peyton would have comparable a comparable receiving group...considering that his #'s have dipped considerably without Harrison and Clark, one can only guess what they'd be without Wayne as well.

 

You may end up being right about Vince Young, but as of now, it's too early to tell, IMO. Fisher and the Titans have been through this process before, turning an athletic, running QB with a lot of raw ability into a very good NFL QB (Steve McNair)...I think they know what they're doing. Add a guy who has a stellar track record with QB's (Norm Chow) and I'll take my chances. I wouldn't be so quick to close the book on Young...

Both of Young's counterparts in the '06 draft have had their own struggles, and neither has been overly impressive...also, both guys were more polished passers coming into the NFL, and are surrounded by much better skill players on offense. I think I'll give them all a little more time before I declare them busts. It takes a little time to learn and master the QB position in the NFL...almost all players go through some growing pains.
