October 6, 200719 yr Author Uconn and Pitt are the only 2 winnable games left for them IMO Uccon has outscored their opponets 183 to 55. Their opponets haven't been the best either. The 5 teams they have played have a combined record of 6-18. Pitt is 2-3 but played Michigan State a good game.
October 6, 200719 yr Either be a fan or don't......you are not a fan, as evidenced by your posts. You left out the choice to just watch the games for good football (not booing, screaming expletives, leaving during the game before it is over and being in the seat at kickoff?) and struggling to find much? Hope is a great thing. But it has never made a stop on 3rd down and will never break up a long touchdown pass. I support you being a "fan" and your optimistic attitude.
October 6, 200719 yr I think UL will win against Pitt and UConn and upset one of the other 3 to go 6-6 and go bowling. Someone needs to challenge the UL defense to step up and make some plays and also have someone on the D step up to be the leader for them. I am a UK fan, but I cheer for UL when they are not playing UK. Go Cards!
October 6, 200719 yr I like UofL to win 3 more.. I think Pitt, UConn, and Rutgers at home (this one is big IMO) in front of 33000.
October 6, 200719 yr I'm not a Louisville Fan nor a Kentucky Fan but am a Tennessee Vols Fan. I do like to see both the Cardinals and Wildcats win in most cases, though. The big thing I would say to the Cardinals fans is you can't give up on these guys. If you do, then you're telling them that you're only fair weather fans and that they are not worth the time. The Vols Fans have been guilty of doing this during this season as well. A football is shaped like it is so that it will bounce funny. That is part of the game. Stick with your guys and support them. That can be said for any team that has had difficulties this year (or any year). I got to see the Cardinals close up a couple of years ago as my son was recruited somewhat early on before an injury. I realize that Petrino is gone, but the fans, administration and persona (as well as some fairly decent talent) is still there. I don't believe that Louisville was just a flash-in-the-pan. They will be back - perhaps even this year.

I love what you're saying, but as a fan I can only cheer for my team, I can't make the defensive line actually pressure the quarterback, nor can I make sure that the OC calls deep pass plays. The team and the coaches need to get on the same page... I'm not saying the coaches or players are bad (um, we'll get to the D line shortly), but they don't seem to be working together to fix the issues. There are plays that work against certain teams, and there are plays that don't. Don't go with the ones that don't work for too long, or else you'll get too far behind, evidence from all three losses. And the defensive line needs the most revamping of anything on this team. Honestly, they're completely dominated every single play, with incredible ease. So, as far as my observations go, once these issues are taken care of the Cards will be able to return to their expectations. And these players absolutely deserve the fans to keep their butts in the seats for all four quarters. The seniors have accomplished so much, and now that they've fallen down we as fans should be there to help them back up.

October 7, 200719 yr I posted once and stated if you look at the teams your are playing and say "we will win this one and lose this one here" then you have a defeated attitude. Believe in your team and believe in yourself. Bama has LSU, vols, warbuzzards and will win them all and beat the Gators in the SEC game. Cards will win them all. How could you say anything else?

October 7, 200719 yr What is it with UL and talented senior quarterbacks? When Chris Redman was a senior, they had a bad year. When Dave Ragone was a senior, they had a bad year. Now the same thing is happening with Brian Brohm.

I disagree that one would have a defeated attitude, they just might be using logic. For instance, I REALLY hope the Cardinals beat the crap out of every team they play. But I don't THINK that they actually will, due to their losses this year. Just like going into the season, I didn't think they'd lose ANY games, not just because I'm a big fan, but because of all the talent they had coming back. Can they turn it around? Sure, it's not too far fetched, considering how crazy this season has been. Have they shown the effort and improvement in the past couple of games that would tell me they're actually GOING to turn it around? Nope. But I've still been to all home games for all four quarters and still chant the Cardinal chants, so I think that's a pretty fair attitude.
