Thelen will be at CovCath, but Albert Powell was one of the better players at Pius last year and he is at St. X. I'm not sure why he left for St. X but he is pretty good player. He started for Pius.

NKY - word is that Albert did make the St X team.

Found out from some players that Conner will have every Freshmen available to Rowland for the first time in his tenure at Conner. Also, Ryle will not move up any freshmen either on a permanent basis. One will definitely see some JV and maybe Varsity time, but will be primarily used as a freshmen. This is what I'm hearing from players in each program.

Well, that is quite impressive if true. I watched St. Pius play twice last season and there was only one kid on the floor that stood out to me and it was the Thelen kid. Unless this Powell kid grew 7 inches and improved his game miraculously I find this hard to believe. Especially at a school where the talent pool is so deep and kids that could dominate in NKY as well as other Cincy schools are getting cut.

With that said, I dont want to take away from the accomplishment so if true then that is great and I hope it works out for the young lad.

Who will be the top freshmen players from Conner this season? Ryle would seem like a tough place to play JV & Varsity as a frosh as they have had some good classes go thru as freshmen the past couple of years. There would seem to be a lot of talent in the pipeline for Coach Mullins.

While NKY thought he was a Pius kid, he was a Blessed Sacrament kid.

Re: Pius, I think you'll see 6 or so make the CCH team, one make the HC team, and one B teamer make the HC team.

Who are the two Pius kids who went to HC? Didn't Joey Allen from St Joes end up at HC as well?

Let me give a recount. There could be 8 maybe 9 Pius kids make CCH's frosh team. Add in the 2 at HC , one or two at Dixie, and one at Villa.

How good was SPX last year? 8 or 9 of them making CCH's team, along with others at other schools, is extremely impressive.

This is great news Albert Powell is a great kid and a very hard worker. He'll be a nice addition for the Bombers. Good Luck Albert, see you next summer hopefully.

I think they did pretty well. There's no one dominant player like a Todd Jacobs but they are all solid to strong ballplayers. 8 or 9 would be the max but I'd say at least 6.

They cut the team to about 16 or so and 3 to 4 more will be cut.

I think the final number was 7.

Hey Albert went to bBessed Sacrement Andrew Armstrong went to Pius then At X and Thelen is playing he is still injured and will not play for another week or so

Ryle should be a very good freshmen team this year. One thing that I have heard thru the grapevine is that that Zach Perkins could potentially be playing JV & some varsity and none with the freshmen. He was probably their best player while at Gray and that would affect the freshmen team to some degree. They would still be very solid and probably still one of the better frosh teams but it might bring them back to the pack a little bit.

Maybe JV but IMO not varsity. To many other old kids in front of him that are better or just as good.
