9th Region Freshman Forecast

NCC should be decent if they can get some guard play. Good size at 6'6", 6'4" and 6'4" posible starters.

If Greunschlager is one of them I hope he improved his quickness because he was left behind many times last year while the game moved to the other end. He is a big kid that doesnt get moved much down low.

I know that Gray Middle School ran away with the 8th Grade championship last year. Will any of those freshmen have an opportunity to play varsity or JV minutes this year?

Are you referring to the tall boys that all played at the same grade school? St Therese maybe?

Not likely.

The Gruensl. and Geisler from St. Thomas will be the big men.

edit

I have heard the top two teams are Boone and Ryle but thats because they have been playing together for so long.

CovCath has a good class coming in, good size and strength. But one of the best players from St Pius has moved and is playing at St. Xavier (OH).

St. Henry has a nice squad and I heard good things about the team. They did lose some players probably because of football. IHM had some size go to CovCath and so did St. Henry grade school. But I think they will be alright.

No plans for a football team anytime soon and I don't see it happening anytime soon.

He's a good kid but he would have a hard time making the FROSH team. He was probably the #8 or #9 man on the Pius team last year.

He will not play at X.

Was that the Thelen kid? I remember him being a very good player for St. Pius last year. I am almost positive he was an 8th grader.

Is the B-ball team going to run into the same "problems" that the F-ball team has???

It's been heard, that any of the players from last years 8th grade team that had "issues" last year will not make the Freshman squad this year.

No no no. Jake is a hoss and will be playing basketball for CCH this year.

Thelen will be at CovCath, but Albert Powell was one of the better players at Pius last year and he is at St. X. I'm not sure why he left for St. X but he is pretty good player. He started for Pius.

Best of luck to the young man and the other 150 Frosh trying out over at St. X.

Who are the coaches at these schools? Is there any consistency at the freshmen level in the 9th?
