I didn't expect a blowout. Corbin is rounding into a nice team. The Belfry loss doesn't look nearly as bad after seeing them destroy everybodyelse they have played.

Belfry is a fine defensive team. Corbin had to make a very long bus trip to

get to Belfry before they could play the game. The game was much closer than the score because Corbin could have put 14 points up on the board and then it would have been a different game. But, we didn't and we lost and scores can be deceiving.

Lexington Christian Academy, which averaged a state-leading 50 points while winning its first five games, isn't used to watching somebody else light up the scoreboard.

 

But Corbin put on an offensive show at the Eagles' expense last night. The Redhounds rolled up 610 yards and ripped host LCA 47-21.

 

Quarterback Clint Cashen orchestrated the onslaught behind a dominant offensive line.......

I have said after watching play Belfry that they was going to have a good season. I think this game shows just how good they are.

In a post-game interview, Coach Rains put it this way:

I have felt the pollsters have put too much stock in the Belfry loss and that Corbin should be a top 3-4 team in 2a...This should solidify that thought...

They were number 4 last time I checked. Does the LHL go by the Cantrell ratings or something?

They were #5 in the latest BGP rankings and to me, they are about as accurate as any, but, I just felt they could have made an argument for #1, 2 or 3 all along...
