Seahawks 24 Bengals 21

Featured Replies

I heard someone on the radio say that he has the capability of turning a 5 yard run into a 15 yard run and a 30 yard run into a 15 yard run.
That's perfect. :thumb:

LJ had 42 yds on 23 carries today. You list 16 RBs. How many NFL teams are there? 32. Post the last 5 years rushing totals for these guys and lets see what ya got.

Pul LJ in this backfield and he tears it up. In KC they have to key on the run they couldn't here. Put just about anyone that he listed in this backfield and they would do even better for the Bengals then they do for their team, because of the other weapons we have..Yeah Rudi has put up decent numbers, but what decent runningback wouldn't be able to do that with all the weapons we have. If we had a back who could also break the big run unlike Rudi, then this offense would be even better and would be at the level of Indy...

I have not included this year, and have went back the previous 4 years to the 2003 season.

Edgerrin James: 1,341 att. 5,472 yds. 4.1ypc, 39TDs....

Shaun Alexander: 1,301 att. 5,907 yds. 4.5ypc, 64TDs....

Deuce McAllister: 957 att. 4,107 yds. 4.3ypc, 30TDs....(Split time with R. Bush)

Brian Westbrook: 690 att. 3,259 yds. 4.7ypc, 20TDs....

LaDainian Tomlinson: 1,339 att. 6,257 yds. 4.7ypc, 76TDs....

Travis Henry: 783 att. 3,228 yds. 4.1ypc, 17TDs....(He split time with McGahee in 2004 and 05)

Rudi Johnson: 1,254 att. 5,178 yds. 4.1ypc, 45TDs....(Split time with Dillion in 2003)

I didn't take into consideration their receiving stats, but looking at these numbers, Alexander, LT, Westbrook (his ypc is huge, and he's awesome at receiving.) are all better than Rudi, Edge is every bit his equal, and Henry and Deuce's numbers are reduced due to injury and spliting time with other guys.

UKMF, I looked up this stat myself about last season....

Last year, there were 32 players with over 100 carries. Rudi ranked dead las on that list in YPC.

Exactly. Yet we're promoting these RBs as elite or great backs? Come on. Rudi is Rudi, a tough in between the tackles runner. Eats up yards and clock. Irons or Perry were the ones who were to be guys that could get to the edge and break the long ones. I can't figure out why Rudi is blamed for this. TOs and bad ST play cost the Bengals today. And didn't Rudi have a decent day last week? You put any of your guys (except the top 3 or 4) and I don't see any difference. RBs are only as good as their blocking and quite frankly I didn't see any gaping hole today.

So just because Steven Jackson, Larry Johnson, Willis McGahee, Joseph Addai, and Willie Parker haven't played for 5 years, they aren't elite?

I'd take any of them in a heartbeat over Rudi, and I'd think most others would as well.

We should have had Stephen Jackson and LT too. :sssh:

Yep, and that's the most telling stat. A guy may have 300 more yards, but if it takes him 100 more carries to get there, he isn't as productive.

I remember watching the draft that day and screaming at my TV when they made that trade, and still took a RB....Thanks, for bringing up bad memories.:madman:

How many had over 1300 yards rushing and more double digit TD's... look that up from last year, matter of fact look back the last 3 years.

Thats not the point. This point is that many other back could do what he has done and better in this offense.

If totals are all that matters...what if I carry the ball 400 times and you carry the ball 200 times. We both end up at 1300 yards, who's better?

It's been 40 games since Rudi had a run over 35 yards....what a gamebreaker...

75 year old, broken down Jamal Lewis busted a 65 yarder last week and he's a "between the tackles" guy.

Rudi doesn't have the speed to run outside, and he screws up far too many inside runs. I'm not saying he's stupid, but maybe he just isn't that good????

You are right. If you can't run to the outside and hit home runs why are you in the NFL? Rudi and his 1300+/12 TD's the last 3 years are worthless. He should be in NFL Europe at best.

If you can't run 50 yard runs each game you don't belong in the NFL. BALL CONTROL means nothing... hit home runs score TD's give the other team the ball back as fast as you can.

Today's game makes the next month look like a possible night mare. With it all starting on October 1'st.

They'll lose next week and go to 1-3, but don't fret, Cincy will make the playoffs and go 10-6. Look at the remainder of the schedule. Even if they lose both to Pitt and @ Balt (which I think they'll take atleast 1 of 3), there is no one else on the schedule that, IMO, they will lose to...
