Dayton 20 Lynn Camp 13

Featured Replies

heres what I'm here to tell you... on the field, you hear no band, you hear no fans in the stands, ever, especially in the final drive of the game. I don't think it is bush at all to be playing when there is a third or fourth and short, I think it is just like when you go to a college or pro game and the board will say "NOISE!" or "LOUDER!" or "CLAP YOUR HANDS/STOMP YOUR FEET!" It doesn't really affect the players that much, especially in open stadiums.

What I do think is bush, and I realize this may rub some people the wrong way, but what I think is bush, is that on that final drive when Lynn Camp was out of time outs, a player had "cramps" every single play, one player was 3 times in the final 2 minutes, and they would take a nice long injury time out, chug some water, come out one play, and go back in the following play just to do the whole thing over again. Yeah, maybe they did have cramps, but I don't believe they were bad enough to where they couldn't walk to the sideline that many times. I have no doubt that they didn't know what they were doing at least a little bit a couple times. They used them as built in time outs... IMHO, there needs to be some kind rule for a team or player if the said player is hurt multiple times within 2 minutes, making them sit for longer than the one play.

Oh, and the spots are what they are. Dayton didn't get the greatest spots for their offense all night either...

and just and FYI, the actual final score of this game was 20-15, as Dayton got the ball back on about the one foot line with 4 seconds left and ran the clock out by giving up a safety at the end.

Good game, both sides...

oh, and my theory of gettin the ball to your playmakers outside is looking good. On the first play from scrimmage it was the simple, turn, throw, break a a tackle, touchdown to Young. On the last play of the first half, it was the simple fade to Turner in the back of the endzone. Those guys make plays.

Nice job Dayton! Sounds like a great game. The Greendevils seem to always find a way to win in the end...

What is bushleague is fans up in the stands booing an injuried HIGH SCHOOL player. One of the most disrespectful things I have seen. The player having the cramps was Joe Roskopf, a back with around a 1000 yards on the season, the team driving to tie or win the game, he starts cramping so we can get long timeouts, and by doing so, forcing our top player to sit out a play here and there with the game on the line.

On to the game Lynn Camp wasn't ready to play and it showed early. Dayton had there way in the first quarter shutt us down, and scoring on two big plays. One of the more poor tackling games I have seen in awhile out of Lynn Camp. The play before the half was the backbraker. Lynn Camp settle down on defense in the second keeping Dayton off the board, and moving the football. Lynn Camp was inside the 15 yard line two different times during the game, and was unable to put it in, a penalty hurt one of the drives as we had a td called back. Dayton's d played well when it counted. I also felt this was the first all season we had been outplayed on the line. Sidney Wagner stepped up played great scoring both tds. From my view on the last play, he didn't score. LC will need to regroup and great ready for another green team, against Harlan. After playing 4 out of the first 5 on the road, and the last two games being 2 hrs+ and 3 hrs+, it will be nice to be at home.

Love to see the Greendevils back in the top 10...of the state. Congrats to the Dayton kids and staff.

Band playing while another team is driving is bush, but everyone does it. Then again, so is "cramping" to stop the clock. Not trying to argue, but they are both equal in their bushness.

There is a gentlemens agreement that bands don't preform during the playing of the football game.

Go to Trinity or a St. X game and you won't see that happening. It is called class.

I wonder what Roskoph's body fat percentage is, and how well he was hydrated before the game. Has he had problems with cramping in prior games when it was hotter and more humid? The other kid for Lynn Camp had a nice game so it was not like the offense was on the sidelines when Joe was out.

Just some points to ponder.

Congrats to Dayton, they showed up to play. LC 99 you got off easy if all the Dayton fans did was boo you. There was a time when we were instructed to wear our helmets on the bus to protect ourselves!

Dayton stopped Lynn Camp on the 1 foot line on a 4 and goal from the 5 with the clock running and only 4 seconds remained. The runner dove for the endzone but was marked down just shy of the goal line and Dayton hung on 20-13.

Lynn Camp lost at least 1 player to injury on about 5 different occasions on the final drive. Both teams battled to exhaustion.

Fairly mysterious when each time they became "injured" they were tackled in bounds with the clock running and NO TIME OUTS LEFT. They managed a remarkable recovery however as they entered back into the game the very next play:creepy:

You won the game! You beat a superior team why all the sour grapes. If the rules allow you to take advantage of a situation, cudos to the Coach for doing so! So you are telling me Dayton never bent a rule for a victory? Come on! There is not a Coach worth his salt that will not use everything within the rule book to win, if he does'nt, he will be an x-coach soon!

It was in Dayton.

Its also a home and home, Dayton will do the travelling next season.

It could always be worse, my sophomore year of high school while playing a game at Bardstown-Bethlehem the home team played a recording of "another one bites the dust" when one of our players were hurt.

This was an excelent game played by both teams, and both teams left everything on the field. As for the final spot of the game he was close but he was not in. I cannot comment on the the questionable spots in the first half, I couldn't tell where he was.

P.S.- #21 from Lynn Camp (Syndey forgot last?) runs the ball like a warrior.

Great win for Dayton, now they might get a little reconition for beating the two 5A schools earlier in the season.

Here is a snap shot of the first TD and the way the officiating was for Lynn Camp.....And I can't wait til you get to meet our band..

Lynn Camp had many chances to win this game but with the no calls, spotting,TD called back on 4th down, ball carriers clearly out of bounds and refs still running the clock I thought we still should have won the game. It is a shame you travel that far and get treated that way...By the way every kid played their hearts out on both sides it's a shame someone had to lose....

Actually he cramp 3 times, and only one of which was he in bounds, and on another one LC called timeout after to get him back in the game, and the other one he got out of bounds. When a player goes down, he has to sit out a play, Wesley Steele came in and and ran hard, during those few times that Joe went out.
