Well after watching practice a can say that Ashland appears not to be ready for the game in my eyes which doesnt mean much. To much goofing off and the players seemed to be having way to much for a team that is winless. I am going to change my prediction

That's what I was thinking. I've played sports all my life, and we never had a practice worth 30 points either way.

 

Sometimes when a team is down it is good to lighten it up a bit and take some of the pressure off, especially when there is enough talent to win as in Ashland's case.

Mason scrimmaged both these teams. Montgomery was a very tough opponent and looked fundamentally sound in all phases. They also played very hard-nosed. I am not sure that Ashland is on the rebound yet. I'll say Montgomery 21 - Ashland 7.

The Tribe has some good things happening this year. Coach Gooch will have them ready to get a big road win:

You make a good point. It is a bitter rivalry. Russell brings out the best in the Tomcats. I think they (Russell) helped teach us to play football this year. I wish we had played them earlier in the season.

 

As you say, we’ll know more after Friday night.

I am going with an upset. I think Ashland will skim by with a few balls bouncing their way, but I do believe Montgomery is the better team.

These Ashland kids are going to be hungry for a win and the strong showing at Russell will give them the confidence they have needed. I say Ashland takes it!

They still have a shot against Bryan Station regardless for the last playoff spot in the district.
