Are 8th graders allowed to play in a varsity game with seniors?

 

I'm pretty sure they're not.

For the record Beechwood listed 43 players on their roster for the Brossart game, with NO freshmen dressed or listed.

 

Brossart listed 44 of which 16 were either freshmen or 8th graders.

interscholastic athletics at the high school level (grades

9 through 12) for more than a total of one (1) year

in each grade and applicable eligibility shall begin in the

a grade for any reason are ineligible to participate in

interscholastic athletics at the high school level (grades

9 through 12) during the second year in that grade.

The penalty for violation of this rule shall be the loss of

one of the four years of eligibility after being promoted

from grade nine (9). Policies regarding the participation

of repeating students at the levels of play below high

school interscholastic athletics shall be determined by

the school council pursuant to KRS 160.345 (2) (i).

d) Pupils in grades 1-8 may play on the high school team

In regards to running up the score. I have seen the shoe on the other foot for BB. Many times in other sports they have continued the pounding or thumping on lessor quality teams. Now they have to wear their slippers and take a beating just like they dish out.

You have no clue. Give some examples rather than just rant with your hatred towards a school.

We know it hasn't happened in football.

 

Basketball is the only other sport where I've watched Brossart; and they just don't play a style that is conducive to lots of offensive fireworks. They'll occasionally beat an undermanned team by a wide margin, but it's been my experience that they play reserves quite a bit in that situation.

 

They don't have the philosophy, for eaxmple, of leaving their starters in, even if up by 30 or 40, until the team that is behind removes theirs. At least not in the games that I've watched.

 

Sometimes things steamroll and these results happen. Maybe someone has already mentioned - it's kind of hard to tell your scrubs to just lay down.

I did not see the game, but I will say this; some of the best teams in the state never scored a point on Beechwood. You scored 6. That could be looked at as a major accomplishment. Keep your heads up and from what I have heard the fan support is awesome, once there is a good booster program in place and younger kids come in with some experience, your program will take off in no time. Anyone know when BB's next game is? I am an AVID Birds fan, but my lady-friend is a Brossart alum and for not liking sports she actually is pretty psyched about seeing them play. Hopefully not 76-6 but anyone have their schedule? I would appreciate it since HHS' next two are on Sat morning and afternoons. Any help?

I witnessed Brossart back off of your camels twice last year in Basketball, jumping out to huge leads and then easing down with their reserves playing a good portion of the game against cc's starters. I do not ever remember Brossart running it up on anyone and I've seen a lot of games. Check your history books. Please let me know if I am wrong..........with actual proof.
