September 7, 200719 yr I'm a big fan of Louisville, but let's face it; if they play "D" like this the rest of the year, they'll lose their ranking along with a few games, despite a very weak schedule!! What would a WVU, Rutgers or even a Cincy do vs. this "D"?? Shoot, WV would've put up 100.....
September 7, 200719 yr I can't imagine what Slayton and White would have done to UofL tonight! I can, imo they might have set new NCAA records - the both of them would have plus WVU may had set a single game scoring record.
September 7, 200719 yr As for your question stick I really don't know, I much would have rather them had this game vs. Kentucky than tonight. Now they have a little over a week to work on things since they played another weeknight warrior game.

They most likely aren't this bad defensively, but can a team really make that drastic of an improvement in such a short period of time?
September 7, 200719 yr Author They most likely aren't this bad defensively, but can a team really make that drastic of an improvement in such a short period of time? Against what should be a high powered offense in a rocking stadium. It's going to be fun!
September 7, 200719 yr Terrible tackling, missed assignments. Who woulda thunk it - UK offense will be licking its chops all week.
September 7, 200719 yr Let's see....can UL improve their defense that drastically in a week? I actually think you only have to look to MTSU to answer that question. Although they were on the losing side this week, their defense was DRASTICALLY improved since the FAU game! If they can do it, I KNOW we can!

I know nothing of the FAU game and there is no possible way that is true. To answer the question... yes and no. For Saturday, I think this may cause UK to look ahead a week so that is never good. As far as the UL game goes, it just gives them more confidence heading into it IMO.

I didn't see the FAU game, but I saw enough of the embarassing highlights to see it was HORRIBLE against FAU. They caused 4 fumbles last night. I have no idea how many drives the held us to a field goal or less. (Didn't get to see the game). Statistically, though the score doesn't reflect it, I think they did a fairly good job on Defense. I guess it would be too much to credit the UL Offensive unit for playing ABOVE expectations to counter the Defensive underachievement?

The defense was HORRIBLE against Louisville last night. Part of it is b/c UL is so good on offense, but at no point last night could I say that MT defense played well.
September 7, 200719 yr They most likely aren't this bad defensively, but can a team really make that drastic of an improvement in such a short period of time? They probably aren't that bad defensively but they are not a "D" power by any stretch (lol). I look for them to come out vs. the Cats with a better defense, how much better we will have to see. As for the MTSU defense, I am sure that it had improved from FAU but lets face it, it was still bad. What times (and there were not many) that U.L. was stopped.....they imo stopped themselves. The U.L. offense is a very, very good one and I also believe that we will have to wait and see just how good. MSU ad MTSU were not good defenses by a long shot. U.K.'s may not tbe that good either, we will see.
September 7, 200719 yr There is no way that I can believe any arguement that a defense that gave up 58 points and over 700 yards showed signs of improvement.

Wow!!!:creepy: Maybe I watched another game than you, but the game I watched had no defense at all, and neither team should have the word good next to defense. If I remember the stats right they have up 400 yards passing to Brohm and 5 tds. They gave up a 200 yard rusher, and also let three guys have more than 100 yards receiving in the game. And not to mention they gave up over 50 points. Yeah the defense had some good hits, which stopped Louisville from getting 70 points instead. But in no way can anyone say that their defense did good, they did terrible. Now the offense they did good, especially since they only scored 14 points on florida atlantic last week...
