No, but it is relevant to the question you asked.

Like I said, not an option and I offered my opinion on atheist and homosexual and replied regarding Jewish candidates. I'm not going through every nationality and religious belief.

 

One of the few rights we have in America, is vote for whom we choose. I would choose not to vote for an atheist, a homosexual or anyone who doesn't have a belief in God. There is enough corruption and lack of morality in today's society, that I don't want to worry about from Local or National leaders, who are making decisions for myself and community.

 

Now if that includes me in some group, labeled as something or mis-informed, that so be it.

Look, anyone is fallible and capable of disappointing us. I just think it's less likely to happen with the straight, Christian, happily married individual.

 

I can only offer this analogy. If I'm buying a used car, I test drive it and look at it's history. If I find current flaws or problems in it's past, I don't buy it. If not, I buy it. It still may break down tomorrow, but the odds are much more in my favor.

At some point, everyone starts getting more and more health issues due to old age. I would have a hard time backing someone in their 70s because of the toll the job has on a person.

The question was asked by HHSDad, about candidate for President and would I/we vote for them. Several have offered their opinions, as did I.

 

I would even include my voting selection, in local, state and other elections, if this information was known about the candidate.

Yeah, they have. But, IMO and my voting is IMO, their judgement and decision making is lacking.

 

Not that all Christians make perfect decisions. Absolutely not and not implying that.

They believe in God; they don't believe that Jesus was the Son of God.

 

What about a Muslim? They believe in Allah.

A few in no particular order.

 

1) How will they handle the fiscal issues of the Federal Government?

2) What is their view on Social Issues

3) What are their views on Education

4) What is their view on the US position in Global issues (economic, aid, humanitarian, military)

 

Perhaps to add a few.....

 

Respect for the Constitution, the powers of the states and the role of federal government. The core belief to the Bill of Rights and seperation of powers. Understanding our leadership role in the world and the beacon of freedom we represent. Many of the items listed do not conflict with the basis of our country. However, it is sad to see that a person with inherent sexual disposition still suffers from a predetermined judgement of themselves by others instead of judgement to their actions and deeds.

I disagree. Personally, I think Jimmy Carter is one of the best men to ever hold the office, but critics tout his as one of the worst president's in history. I feel his integrity, morals and ethics are beyond reproach, but that didn't help him in his role as President.

 

I think that a "business-like" mind is needed in the office of President. I know of quite a few highly successful persons in business that I don't necessarily think much of when looking at their personal lives. It's rarely the nice guy who finishes first, because they can't separate their heart from their logic.

 

I offer Richard Nixon as a counterbalance to this. Many think history would have recorded him as a very good president had his lack of moral charactor not derailed his presidency.

Not speaking for LBC or anyone else, I think an openly gay candidate comes with an agenda and extreme pressure from his/her peers to push through legislation for their benefit. I suppose the same argument could be offered for any number of groups, but I don't see the pressure as the same.

Nope. Said I think they made a poor decision on their choice of lifestyle. As people would say I may have made a poor decision here and there on choices in my lifestyle.

 

I disagree with that choice the same as I would disagree and not support someone that supports legal abortions in this country.

I would also add that John F. Kennedy was a Christian (Catholic) who history indicates was a good President but made some not so moral personal decisions.

 

Not saying it is a guarantee but it is a piece of information that I would use to make my choice.

 

Great analogy that I thought Pepper had with buying the car. Use it to make the decision but no guarantee it doesn't break down tomorrow. Scary statement for me, since I bought a used car last week.
