Trinity/LexCath Scrimmage

Featured Replies

28-6 Trinity in the third quarter. Very, very impressive showing by the Trinity defense against one of the best offenses in the state.

One of the best offenses in the state.......with two rookies fighting it out at quarterback. When one of these young kids settles in, Lexington Catholic will be good against good competition.

Until then, ?????????

Make that 35-6 Trinity third quarter.

Trinity's qb is a rookie too. Has never started a game as qb. Played wideout last year.

Supposedly LC had one of the best OLs in the state and let's not forget Shane Israel. To hold Lex Cath to no touchdowns is very, very impressive.

Heck, Lex Cath (34) has more seniors than Trinity.

LexCath picked off a screen pass on Trinity's first play from scrimmage and settled for a field goal, followed by another fg. T then ran off 35 in a row. T seemed to get more dominant as the game wore on. LC moved the ball well at times it seemed, but could not get a TD. I thought T's defense played physical with some nice hits. #34 Israel is very quick and tough - he took some nice shots. I left with five minutes to go in the third and final (game-like) quarter.

Someone better tell "All Tell" and "Knightsdad" the game was tonight. They posted that the game is Friday night. Guess they won't be posting here again!

I didn't get to make the game. Did LexCath run a lot or were they balanced? Last week against PRP they seemed to run more than usual.

Uhh, Ripper, tonight is Friday night...

I'd say LC's offense was balanced. They definitely gained some yards, especially early, but no really long plays that I can remember.

Did I miss something?

Is it not Friday?

I'd guess it won't take long for Catholic to get their young quarterback into the groove. It almost seems like a passing factory on Clays Mill Road. Just plug someone in and their stats will be tremendous; along with a lot of games won!

Rocks rolled - Great game by Safety Nick Van Walleghan - 2 picks I believe - Weitlauf & Whiting had good games as well as Robey, Deeds, Griffin & Kupper. The Duttons were on as usual and Stein really settled in. Great effort Rocks!

Rocks started alittle slow on offense , which is expected. Defense played well, with alot of hard hits, which is expected. Bend but don't break defense works For Coach Bean. Offense woke up in the second quarter and scored a few points the hard way, they earned them. Nice weather and nice game to watch.

In light of Trinity's impressive performances in their first two scrimmages, will this put a damper on the naysayers who forecast a long day for the Rocks at Cinn. St. X?

These two teams (LexCath and Scott Co.) are good programs but in no way are they on in the class of X from Cinn. The Rocks have much work to do before we get to that game including win two games. Trinity was better last night then the week before so we are making good strides.

I agree. I went last night and I missed the Scott Co. game. We looked good in some areas and need work on some things too. Beatty's teams get better as the year goes on. Need to think about BG 1st.
