Joe Girardi In Cincinnati?

Featured Replies

From Lance's blog...

Things I'm told: Girardi in town

Joe Girardi spent the last 3-4 days in Cincinnati. He hung out with good friend Paul O'Neill and played golf at Kenwood and TPC Riverbend. I'm told Joe was also in town to learn about the area/community and the Reds organization.....although he did not meet with any Reds officials.

I continue to be told the Reds have interest in Joe and he has interest in the job. The Reds have not made him an offer at this point. It is still believed Tony LaRussa/Walt Jocketty are the Reds first choice.

Hey GT...how high was the box they let you stand on for that pic...:D

Anyway, I'm definitely interested to see what happens in the offseason.

I'd like to see Joe join the Reds, but I don't think it will happen.

Lance has about as much inside info as the rest of us.

From the Reds site:

Is Reds general manager Wayne Krivsky's job in jeopardy?

On Wednesday, owner/chief executive officer Bob Castellini said that it wasn't.

"No. He's done a good job overall," Castellini said from the Reds dugout during an afternoon rain shower. "He's trying real hard. We're all trying hard."

Are they really pursuing Jocketty?

I really think Joe Girardi is a great fit

I personally would love to see Girardi in a Reds uni. Should Larussa be the man, I would pay to see/hear the 1st interview with Marty Brennaman....................... (including the comments away from the michrophone).:D

Does Marty dislike Tony?

Does Marty dislike Tony?
No, he just thinks he's an arrogant donkey.
Does Marty dislike Tony?

I do. And I'd guess neither I nor Marty have a say in his hire. I'd rather keep our interim than hire him.

If the Reds hire Larussa, I will never go to a Reds game while he's managing. I may even have to become a Cubs fan.

No, he just thinks he's an arrogant donkey.

And he would be correct.

And he would be correct.
I'm a huge Marty fan, but he doesn't have much room to talk in that department.

:thumb: While I wouldn't stoop as low as rooting for the Cubs, I wouldn't follow the Reds anymore.
