August 15, 200719 yr And some folks wonder why this country is "porking up". Note the Bluegrass state's lofty position in the article below: http://www.obesityinamerica.org/geographic.html
August 15, 200719 yr And some folks wonder why this country is "porking up". Note the Bluegrass state's lofty position in the article below: http://www.obesityinamerica.org/geographic.html America is "porking up" not because of what we eat, it's because of what we do before and after we eat, NOTHING! America is inactive and with everything being made for us to do less work it's no wonder why we are all obese. If you exercise on a regular basis you could eat the "baconator" and not be obese. Simple as that!
August 15, 200719 yr A recent study of Amish society was done to see why they had such a low incidence of heart disease, yet ate all the things that are "bad" for you. Guess what they found...they had low rates of heart disease because of all the freakin' work they do. They put pedometers on them and one old guy walked more than 50,000 steps in one afternoon while plowing his field. Keep in mind this was behind a horse/mule drawn plow so it wasn't any Sunday stroll. Gee, go figure that exercise and activity allow a person to more or less eat what they want without suffering dire consequences. Who woulda thunk it... Here's a link to the article for those who are interested... http://www.setma.com/article.cfm?ID=295 I read the reference to the man walking over 50,000 steps in one day in medical journal and that is where I got the 411 on what he was doing to walk that much in one day.
August 16, 200719 yr I've tried it and enjoyed it, but I'd rather have the Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger with a Spicy Chicken Sandwich.
August 16, 200719 yr I've tried it and enjoyed it, but I'd rather have the Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger with a Spicy Chicken Sandwich. Nothing wrong with that order. That spicy chicken samich is delicious; a friend of mine accidentally recieved a slice of bacon on his once. I might ask for bacon too from now on.
August 16, 200719 yr Author Wow, 56 posts on the Baconator. I agree with the poster above about excersizing but a body is sculpted by what you put into it for the most part. A trainer once told me, you don't get a 6-pack of Abs at the gym, you get them with a fork.
August 16, 200719 yr Tried one the other day b/c I looked at this thread and it was okay. I'd rather get a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger and the chicken sandwich off the value menu. I think if it had pickles or lettuce on it it would have been better.

America is inactive and with everything being made for us to do less work it's no wonder why we are all obese. If you exercise on a regular basis you could eat the "baconator" and not be obese. Simple as that! The argument can certainly be made for both sides of the issue. If folks would exercise on a regular basis, obesity wouldn't be as much of a problem as it is. However, one generally hears "diet and exercise" in the same breath; and it stands to reason that if folks could just show a little restraint at the breakfast/lunch/dinner table, and cut down on the 1,000 calorie sandwiches; the workout time could be reduced.
