I was going to say the same thing, I kept looking at this thread going, ehhh I really dont care about this game. However after seeing 178 posts I started reading it. You guys really love your programs. :thumb:

We do love our programs and our kids. The rebirth of football in has sparked spirit and enthusiasm in our community.

Thanks for looking in !

With all this talk you would think this game was between T and X :scared:

You would almost think so, wouldn't you?

In the end it doesn't matter if you are "T" or Trimble, "X" or Ludlow...the off season weightlifting, the hours spent by the coach pouring over film, the preseason injuries that the boys battle through, the pain that they push away while being unwilling to give up, the heat that they practice in while others are in the air conditioning, the grounds crews that toil over the fields to get them ready, the managers that lug huge coolers around to keep "their boys" hydrated, the parents that sit in the stands during practice waiting to pick up "their boys", the build up of anticipation of the students in the schools, the boys proudly wearing the game jerseys on Fridays...

It all comes down to this...at every game this weekend, two teams walk out on the field 0-0...only one can end that night 1-0 continue an undefeated season.

I absolutely love it!

"Take everything...give nothing"

I don't remember reading how large a school Trimble County is or what football class they represent. Ludlow is a small class A school located in northern Kentucky and has just under 500 students from the 7th - 12th grades.

Well, last year Trimble was knocked out by the eventual state runner up (Danville) and Bird had a touchdown on them...against their first string. At least in Danville, they respect him...and I don't mean this disrespectually, but Ludlow is no Danville.

Evidently, it will come down to the defensive end of things...Coach Poynter will have the Raiders ready.

Shoot Ludlow gets knocked out every year to an eventual state champion in either NCC or Beechwood. We have had 2 of the top teams in the state to deal with every year. I mean I know when I was in high school I scored a touchdown against Beechwood who was State Runner-ups but that didn't mean a team had to have an "ELITE" defense to stop me...:sssh: :p

I not taking anything away from Bird because I have heard of him and he is a VERY GOOD runningback. But to say you have to have an ELITE defense to stop them at all, is not right. Because as I said then Trimble shouldn't lose a game this year because hardly any high school teams especially now in 1A will have an ELITE defense... My predicition Bird gets 150 yards and 2 tds and the fullback gets 1 td...

And here I thought someone said Ludlow's defense was their area of concern.

Sorry if my ELITE defense comment offended you. I just call 'em like I see 'em.

Do you consider that stopping him? In my opinion, yes.

Call me crazy, but I will cash my chips in on Trimble county. Someone has to have faith ;)

I also have to go with Trimble...Bird is the Real Deal...

RCR, we may claim you as a TC fan, though. :D I, too, have faith in the Raiders and believe that they will start the year out 1-0.

Don't forget about Me...:D :thumb:

I definitely won't, Adopted Ad...best of luck to your boys. It is nice to see another Admiral fan that thinks so highly of Bird. At least to me, compliments from the Admiral nation seem to mean the most. You all are a bunch of classy people that obviously know good football! :thumb:

Best of luck to your boys! I will be keeping up with you all this year, too!

I would just like to wish both teams good luck!!! I hope to be there to watch but I don’t know yet so good luck and have fun after all isn't that supposed to be the main part of high school football.

I consider that containing him with as good as he is...and yes the defense for Ludlow is the weak part of the team when you compare it to the offense, becuase the offense is very good. The elite defense didn't offend me at all when it comes to Ludlow defense because I know Ludlow doesn't have an elite defense. I just found it funny that you say you have to have an ELITE defense to stop them or else you wont win, because as I said if it has to be an ELITE defense to stop him then I guess I will be seeing Trimble in the State finals or close to it, becuase hardly anyone in 1A will have an "ELITE" defense...;)

I guess we will just have to wait and see. You just keep mentioning ELITE so I took it that it was a sore point with you somehow.

Should be pretty easy for Ludlow, Coach go on out on that limb you know it will be something like 49-7

The way Coach Poynter's teams have controlled the ball in the past couple of years  I don't see how Ludlow will have the ball enough to score 49 points!
