It's hard for me to understand, how a non-player, can affect the scoring margin of the game.

Whistle stoppages, result often in foul shots and that is out of the control, of the Ref.

What about charges, excessive fouls on top-quality players, etc.? I think a referee (or umpire) could have a major say in the outcome of a game.

Agreed, I can see this taking away offensive chances of one team but the shooting %, with a shot clock is hard to overcome.

If I were the ref involved I would be worried about Tony Soprano showing up at my front door. David Stern may be his lifeline.

Uh, Tony's dead, right? Seriously, this cat looks like he might be in trouble with the League:sleep: and the mob:eek: ! Which one is worse?...

I think there are only about 15 people in the world who don't think it was already ruined.

Maybe in this area, but in the cities where NBA franchises are, it's still a very popular league.

Fans have always complained about how refs give special treatment to certain players and teams, if this proves to be true, it's going to be extremely difficult for the NBA to overcome.

I have often wondered about this type of thing and most often just wrote it off as "I've watched too many movies...", but now...

This might explain some of the crazy scenarios that have forced me to lose money I should've won on games.
