I'd be surprised as well but I will say this. If Willie is interested and applies and if he gets the gig. Highlands should offer the head job to Code (Current Brossart coach). I rank him up there with the best and he gets the most out of his players. Having a teaching job already at Highlands makes this an obvious choice for the administration pending Willie leaves.

 

However, I doubt he goes anywhere.

That would be a very likely scenario if Willie left.

I wish they would consider Coach Enz. Even though he isn't proven, he's young and could bring a lot of excitement into the program.

LC he very well could be....these are three names that could be confirmed.

I'd really be surprised if Schlarman left Highlands for the Campbell job. I actually believe he's at his dream job in Fort Thomas. He'll get the right athletes through there eventually and he'll make some noise.

 

If he did apply for this job, I don't see how Campbell Co. could pass him up. He's probably the best of all the candidates resume wise.

 

I'm another that would be surprized if Willie left what was supposed to be his "dream job" only a couple years ago?? I know he'll have to fight the "football is king" issue down there, but he knew that going in. That said, he'd be very hard to pass up if he applied!!

I agree LC that he'll make a good head man someday in the not so distant future. I loved what I saw of his team at CC last year--Night & day from the varsity in terms of organization, effort, etc. I think his age and lack of coaching experience will work against him unfortunately. I'd have to think if he's the hire, that several of the higher profile candidates either never applied or turned the job down. I would urge the new coach to keep him on the staff, as he appears to be a solid winner to me!!

Some pretty good names in the hat for this job. Heard from a very reliable source: Schlarmann, Carr, Dawn, Russell, Seiter, Scott Code. They are taking applications through this week. Interviews start next week.

Impressive list of applicants if they've all indeed applied!! As much as I hate to say this, because Brossart would be losing a heckova coach; I think Scott Code would be great for this job. His time may have come to be a head guy, he's been associated with nothing but winning programs, and knows his basketball!! He'd bring some defensive intensity to the Camels, and is a very hard worker!! That said, I selfishly hope he's still prowling the Mustang sidelines next winter!!

Let me speak for the CCH and Highlands fans when I say this:

 

We've got nothing on CC and BBHS when it comes to venom being spewed.

Actually there seems to be more interest from Brossart than the Camels on who the new coach is!!!!:jump:

 

 

Seriously though OT I am only reporting what I hear from people in the Newport, Bellevue, NCC circles. I am sure you have more insight from the CC folks.

 

However.....I did notice you did not correct who is being interviewed this week so I look for those 3 to be the leading candidates as we head down the stretch.
