The words of the bible should be our guide, nothing more, nothing less. 2 Tim 3:16, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" I would personally have a problem calling myself anything that isn't mentioned in the bible.

Not entirely different from calling yourself Kentuckian, Hoosier or Virginian instead of American.

 

OR Calling yourself American, British, German, Japanes or Chinese as opposed to a human being.

 

Simply a sub-grouping for the sake of ideological differences in this case as opposed to where you were born with the above example. :thumb:

If you've read this thread you understand that although all these denominations agree that Christ is the Savior, there are many different methods of worship, some differing substancially. Having a different name for each denomination more easily defines their particular method.

Excuse me. That would be impossible! I'd have to be RockMAN to be the Pope.

Has the Pope been to a worship service at my Church? To a Bible study, has he heard the testimonies from people who have Jesus and had their lives transformed? Not only my church but all the churches and religions that he has spoke about.

 

I don't want to be funny or make someone mad...But someone RockMom or anybody explain bowing and kissing the ring of the Pope? I rememeber Coach Pitino making a joke about "the Pope couldn't kiss my ring I don't have one".

 

I'm not going to comment on the Catholic Faith, but will use scripture if need to.

 

RockMom asked me a couple of questions, By all means Catholics can have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ...the Bible is for everyone and so is Jesus.

 

I'm not sure if the Catholics worship the Pope. I'll be honest I don't know much about the Pope and his people on a relationship level. I think its OK for the Catholics to have a spirtitual leader and when they had to find a new Pope I watched with interest.

 

Like I said before I was on a radio show with Preachers who said my family was in hell because we are Baptists,, so I don't speak badly of others beliefs. Its wrong and the Pope is wrong in saying what he said. Its his thoughs and he is human so his statement doesn't concern me.
