If that is correct it doesn't sound very well on my Jumpers! I would like to know the facts from Somerset's side before I make a judgement, but as of right now I'm disappointed in the situation.

The facts are as follows...Head Coach resigns, then he hires back in...Recently Burmuda grass was sowed. Some say it will be ready and others say it won't...Mercer County scheduled to play Somerset@ Somerset then Somerset is not playing them. Now Somerset is playing Metcalfe Co. @ Metcalfe Co....My concern is that Somerset is scheduled The Ray Correll Bowl for August 24. Southwestern is sheduled to play Rockcastle County in the first game of the season. Is the field to be ready or not? Is the Bowl to go on if the grass is not full. Not much info coming out of the Somerset Camp...

I was told today that grass is doing fine and is right where it should be. I dunno, that's what I was told.

But, I still don't understand why they backed out. I can't see Mercer finding a game now for that week. If their field was a problem they could have asked to swap home dates for the series. No doubt that Mercer is the big loser here.

You would never get that kind of action from SWHS. We are in the same District as Mercer and looking forward to the game...:thumb:

They also have the last week of the season open. So does Henry Clay! It makes sense!

Seriously, in the Danville-paper article, it almost seemed like Jaggers was resigned to playing nine and didn't even mention the last week of the season. I wonder if he wants the off week leading into the playoffs?

If that's what Jaggers wants is to take the last week of the season off before the playoffs, I can't blame him. That would seem pretty smart to me, especially since that last week isn't district play. That was dumb on the KHSAA's part IMO (not having the last week a distict game). Personally, I dont thing that it would matter if it was Henry Clay or a 6 man team, if you have the option of taking the last week off before the playoffs, I think that's a great move on Jaggers and any other teams across the state that are choosing to do the same.:thumb:

I understand completely. I'm just saying that I'd rather play ten games and not have the bye before the playoffs, rather than complain about only having nine games.

Is Coach Jaggers saying that we was lied to? Could it just be a failure in communication? I hope so Somerset has played in the worst District in the state for several years, but have always played a strong early schedule. I am a Rock fan, but follow the Jumpers every year and am really worried that Coach Cobb may have brought some very negative attention to that program. You need to stand by your word, whether there was a signed contract or not.

Alot of jumping around over at the Briar Patch. Seems as if indecision is dominant or do they just want us to think that?...

That makes no sense, since you are in the district you have no choice but to play them. I thought you were going to try to stay positive, Kemosabee...or did you just have to get one last little jab in?

We would not cancel out in simuliar situation. Keemosabee is positive. No jab to Somerset intended, merely stating a fact. Instead of trying to spar with me, get out there and find out the problems that WE ALL want to know about...:thumb:

You see you are way too sensative. Earlier today I made a post here at BGP and even placed Somerset in front of the other 2 County schools. Quit crying and start trying...:ylsuper: ... Keemosabee

Would you please add Somerset, Southwestern, and Pulaski County to the list?

Mercer is the big loser here. Somerset knew that Mercer had Metcalfe in the background needing a game and ready to play, but ONLY if Somerset backed out. Guess what Somerset did? Mercer is without a game week 2 and now Somerset vs. Metcalfe - you figure it out?
