I like good Chinese food, but if I have my d'ruthers, Thai is the way to go.

I've never had Thai, what's the major difference?

Just had it last night. If you're in Bardstown, eat at Hunan's and not one of the other 3 places.

 

I'm a Kung Pao Chicken man through and through, but I'll eat just about anything. I like Moo Shoo Pork, shrimp lo mein, egg drop soup, Szechaun beef, and I prefer spring rolls to egg rolls. I like Saki.

 

I also agree with Jim that I prefer Thai, which is the one type of cusine you can't really find that's good in Louisville.

I've had general chicken from various resturants and the chicken is garbage.

But the Orintal Wok's general wong chicken is real white meat. Delicious!

Also, there's a place in Highland Heights right next to the bowling alley that advertises itself as Chinese, but it's run by a Thai family. They do an excellent job on their Thai dishes. When the guy asks how hot you want your dish, tell him to "make it like you would for yourself." The bomb!

There was this fellow years ago who ran a BBQ pit in Ghent, Ky., who made the best BBQ. To keep his costs down, he would make the rounds between Ghent, Carrollton, Sanders, Sparta and Warsaw picking up stray dogs and cats. I quit eating it soon after I found this out.

I enjoy some Sesame Chicken on occasion.

 

Has anyone had Honey Chicken? I had it last week at a Chinese place in Bloomington, IN.

^ I have had it, good for a change. I didn't think I would care for it to much, but it turned out to be pretty good.

I like the American Chinese food, but trust me it IS NOT authentic!!!! When in China there are times that I almost upchuck when I enter the restaurants with the styrofoam coolers that have snakes, carp, octopus, etc... in them that you pick for your meal.

 

Boiled chicken feet are appetizers to Chinese, much like potato skins for us.

 

I thought I liked the BBQ chicken in China until I found out that it was actually corn fed rat. I promise you I am not lying!!!!

 

My vendors in China now take me to western style meals, because I just cannot stomach the native cuisine.

:thumb: :thumb: I am with you Tater, I really like our version of Chinese food. Some of my favorites are Sesame Chicken, Pepper Steak, Chicken and Brocolli, Chicken and Cashews, Sweet and Sour Shrimp and Chicken, Shrimp and Broccolli.

 

When I was single I would go to a chinese place and order (Sum Yung Chik)

I used to like Chinese food much better than I do now. My ex burned me out on it over the years, however. That's usually all she wanted to eat whenever we went somewhere. But I still eat it occasionally. I like the small carryout restaurant in Richmond called China King.

I have been into the place that MJ has mentioned and it is fairly cheap.....and pretty good too.

 

I love crab rangoon, sesame chicken, bourbon chicken, and the friend rice with soy and duck sauce.
