May 29, 200719 yr First LP was Iron Butterfly In-a-Gadda -da-Vida (sp) song was 17 minutes long and the rest of the album was pretty good too. Need to redo it on CD. No wonder I like you!!! Great minds stink alike...!

May 29, 200719 yr Since this thread came up, I have been trying to think of the first album I purchased... I do not think my Pocket Rocker counts with two Guns and Roses and two Bengal songs on it... The first I can recall is "Please Hammer, Don't Hurt 'Em." Maybe it was Meatloaf's, "Bat out of Hell."

The construction worker? :sssh: That's been so long ago and so many dead brain cells ago that I can barely recall. I will confess that by the time "Macho Man" and "In The Navy" hit the charts I had begun to suspect something fishy about their "party lifestyle." My older uncle (by about 11 years) lived with us at the time, and he gave me free rein of his record collection. Cool stuff like Fleetwood Mac, The Doors, The Allman Bros., Skynyrd, etc. I had been given other stuff as gifts as well. But he was absolutely horrified when I spent my allowance money on a Village People album, and forbade me from spinning it on his high-end turntable. In hindsight, it's easy to see why. :lol:
