You are really not making much of a point here... I never said Shaq/Kobe did not work. It worked quite well. I am sure both will say it did. As I am sure both will say they are both glad they are not with one another. Although Shaq does have another ring while deferring to a superstar, Kobe has lived up to his end of the bargain in performance the last two years Shaq was in LA, and the three years since he has left. If you think otherwise, you are too biased against Kobe, imo. The best pickup of the Lakers since he has been solo has been Lamar Odom... People try to paint the image that Shaq was begging to stay and work things out with Kobe/Buss; that is hardly the case.

 

According to Jerry Buss, the options were.... 1) Keep Kobe; 2) Keep Neither... O'Neal does not fit into the equation here. That is the point trying to be made.

Never said Shaq wanted to stay and yes I am biased against Kobe. My point is it's always been about Kobe and always will be.

Kobe wanted the glory, spotlight and to be the go to guy....Now, he's complaining, because he can't carry the load, as requested.

I've seen enough interviews, comments and jabs over the years, from both Kobe and Shaq, to see internal problems existed....without reading comments, from Kobe.

 

Both wanted the ball, be the go to guy. Kobe is one of the best NBA players or all-time, no question. At the same time, commenting about your own teammates, making these "allegations" about your current boss, just reinforces my opinion on him.

 

He's selfish, not always honest and finally realized, he can't win an NBA title, by his own doing and making the surrounding cast better, like Jordan did.

So if Kobe takes the blame for all that happened, he's a bad person because of what happened... But since he tells his side of the story, and it doesn't paint Dr. Buss in a nice picture, he's still a bad person? And what if what he's saying is true?

Kobe is a professional athlete, whom most of us enjoy watching play. I neither idolize him, or find him intriguing.

Well, people were fine just blaming it on Kobe for the past few years and singling him out. If that was wrong and he really did just not want to cause internal organization problems by keeping his mouth shut to the media (it's possible) then some people need to get off his case. At least he isn't coming out and saying this at the time he's releasing a book. I am not and never have been a Kobe Bryant fan, but if what he's saying is true, a lot of people need to rethink their perception of him.

It's everyday life. It happens right down the street from you or the guy in the next cubicle but you don't hear about it because they aren't in the spotlight. I think it's common knowledge a lot of professional athletes in all sports are looked at in that way. I think Wilt helped that image a lot even though he wasn't married. :lol:

Not that I am condoning either action, but cheating on your wife, is quite a bit different than rape, IMO. Sure he was found guilty, but so was OJ. I have my doubts about them both.
