Vegas Recommendations?

Best cheap dinner or breakfast: Ellis Island Casino and Brewery 4-6 bucks for steak dinner or steak and eggs, also fun place to play casino games, if you want to go cheap route.

Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville at Flamingo cool place to hang out and watch the strip a night.

Excalibur and Flamingo both have great dinner buffets, about 17-18 bucks apiece.

Check out a magic show in the afternoon or just off the strip or improv comedy show.

If you have the cash, I recommend seeing '"O" at the Bellagio.....if it's still on. It's fabulous!

I have been to Vegas a ton...

Couple of things...

Old Vegas has gotten seedy. Crime is up there...Pick pockets etc.

Bellagio, Mandalay, and Venetian are where I would stay. Wynn is overpriced and not worth it.

MGM has changed. We hated it last time...there were--how should we say this--business women--there than anywhere I have ever been...walking right up to me and my wife.

Best restaurants:

Steak- Delmonico's in the Venetian (Emeralds steakhouse). Very $$$

Buffets'- I like 3 the best...Paris, Bellagio, and The seafood Buffett in The Rio.

Shows- Danny Ganns, O. I hated the other O shows.

Lots of good ideas. We rented a car once and did Hoover Dam and Red Rock Canyon in the same day. I second the motion for the seafood buffet at Rio. It is very expensive and worth every penny. Rio also has another buffet with foods from many places around the world that is excellent too. The pool at Rio is also nice. I love the outdoor music across from Caesars Palace. The music is at Harrah's in what they call the Carnival Court.

We don't gamble much, if any at all. One thing I want to do this time around in Vegas is see Danny Gans.

The jet skis sound cool too. How much were they neer?

Stayed at the Rio back in March. I would agree about the buffet. I didn't see an all seafood buffet but did go to the buffet that was seafood plus every other kind of food you could want. It was $28 after tip.

Ru, I was just in Vegas and saw Danny Gans. His show is amazing and one of the guys I was with said that it is the best show he had ever seen. I wouldn't go that far but it was an enjoyable hour and a half. I was told that Danny Gans has a six year contract for $150 million ($25 million a year). I wish I could imitate a wide spectrum of singers. :D

As for the Rio, I really enjoy the rooftop bar at the Voodoo Club. I went to a networking reception there and had a good time with great views of the Strip and entire area.

The other highlights from that trip includes the KeyBank party at Bellagio and a small reception in a Golf Villa at Wynn. I also hit a $400 Royal Flush (Ace, King, Queen of Diamonds) playing 3 card poker.

I am sold Mr.N. I went online and bought my Danny Gans tickets and had them delivered to my email box!

Has anyone heard or seen Larry G. Jones, he looks pretty funny too?

I personally like Downtown, IMO a hotel room in LV is just a place to sleep, might as well spend as little as you can (on a clean room), you know they will take the rest on the tables. I've only been to one show and it was the BMGroup, we actually participated in the show (they made us walk down to our seats after the show started and they totally stopped the show and acted like they were going to proceed to douse paint on us), it was pretty neat. After seeing Circus D' whatever it's called in Myrtle Beach I would love to catch the showings in LV.

The buffet at the Bellagio is fabulous too. I tried lots of new things there. They have separate areas for different types of cuisine. So much food.....

We'll have to bring this back up later. I will probably be going to Vegas in November for a Pro-Am pretty much for free. I've never been past the central time zone and am really looking forward to it.

Are you going out there next month bell? Im looking into going out there next month on the 20,21,22 and coming back on the 23. My cousin works for comair and it would only be 150 bucks round trip for me to fly so were thinking about going out for a few days.

Im looking forward to getting back out there, I was there once around 90 or 91 but I was young then and dont remember a lot of it.

We got killed playing Black Jack and the 3 card poker table nearby had a fun dealer and some interesting player so we joined them. I hit that Royal Flush not too long after sitting down. Otherwise, I mostly play Black Jack.

I hate blackjack because I never win. If I sit down at a blackjack table the dealer just couldnt lose if they tried. Im like you the first time I played 3 card poker its because it was next to the blackjack table which just got done whoopin my butt.

You have to play for a long time and follow the "rules" or you have to be able to walk away after getting a big winner. For instance, I was at the top of my betting ladder when I was dealt two aces. I split them and got another ace. Split again and colored them all up with face cards. Three Black Jacks and a huge combined win. I walked away after that.
