Trinity defeated St. X to win their 4th Consecutive Div 1 State Lacrosse championship on Friday night!:dancingpa

 

 

I believe Oldham County won the Div II, beating Eastern HS.

Here is the Louisville newspaper article on the great accomplishment.

 

A three-goal effort by senior Mike Duffy led Trinity High School to its fourth straight Kentucky Lacrosse Association boys' championship, beating St. Xavier 9-7 before 4,000 people at Marshall Stadium yesterday.

 

Sticks flew high out of the hands of Shamrock players when the final horn sounded as Trinity defeated Xavier in another in a long line of rivalry matches between the schools.

 

The win capped an 11-0 season for the Shamrocks and was their second victory this season over the Tigers (7-2).

How many schools play lacrosse?

 

Anybody? I have no clue, but I'm betting it's right up there with the number of schools still playing beer league softball. Unlike beer league softball, however, lacrosse does appear to be more exciting.

I tried doing a search through Yahoo and came up empty, but I wasn't trying very hard. I can't imagine there are that many. I was SHOCKED when I found out that the ACC only has 4 programs that play Lacrosse.
