May 20, 200719 yr Word has it that Kentucky still might be looking to sign a PG for this years recruiting class. One possible candidate is Nevada 2 star PG Hank Thorns. Here is Jerry Meyers take on Thorns. Senior point guard Hank Thorns of Las Vegas is being grossly under-recruited. The 5-foot-9 speedster played like a high-major prospect against Boo Williams as he nearly led his Las Vegas Dog Catchers to an upset win. Thorns scored 30 points on whirling drives to the basket and deep threes while being the unquestionable leader on his team. His on the ball defense was also impressive. Having fully qualified, Thorns said he recently fielded a call from Kentucky, but only has an offer from New Hampshire. UNLV wants him to prep, and Brewster and Findlay are possible destinations if the right offer doesn't arrive. Hank Thorns
May 20, 200719 yr UK needs to bag the scholarship for the 08 class. Brandon Jennings has UK in his top 3, even though it is a long shot, especially with him wanting to decide in July. If they are seriously considering this kid, then I think there is going ot be a defection or two.

That would be three automatic scholarships for next season, and the possibility of more with athletic scholarships and players leaving (Williams?). Kentucky is in the position to have a huge class next season. The following two players are ones that I want to have in Kentucky blue in two seasons from now more than anything. ***** Tony Woods. "C" **** Darius Miller. "SF"

May 20, 200719 yr I think we should let BCG do the recruiting he knows what he wants. If its a 5"9" point guard then so be it. I know everyone has an opinion, and it would seem to me better if we held the schilarship, but it is his decision and if he thinks we need the guy then maybe we do.
May 20, 200719 yr Save it!!!!!! I agree with CowboysFan though. I will go along with whatever BCG wants. However, I will still play "arm-chair point guard"
May 20, 200719 yr This is going to be a very athletic BB Team. Coach has worked his guys out a little and knows what his needs are. If he feels he needs a speedy PG right away to push the ball, then that's what he will try and get. This doesn't mean he still won't go after other PG's next year. He want's to win now, and if he feels he doesn't currently have the horses, then he will get them.
May 20, 200719 yr If the kid is worthy of a scholarship and can come in and contribute or help the team win in some way then offer him. I have faith in our coach to do whats best for our ball team. If offering this kid helps us win next year then offer him.
May 20, 200719 yr Next year's team has plenty of talent at every position except for the fact there is not a "true" point guard on the team (and an unproven 5 man but that is being discussed on another thread). Bradley is a scoring guard, Jasper is meant to be a 3 man, and Porter isn't a great ball handler! This kid may be an over looked star in the making!!
May 20, 200719 yr And why? UK has no needs for guards right now and a 2star? There alot of top100 players interested in UK next year. Save the scholarship for a top notch player.
May 20, 200719 yr Ive heard that this is the first year that he has played AAU ball which would be a big reason he has flown under the radar. Last year his stats were like 27ppg and 12.5 rpg. Sounds like he has some talent.
