RockPride Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Coach Kragthorpe and Co. secured a serious QB that is highly regarded and well known for his skill set as a passer. Tino Sunseri will be a senior at Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh (notable alumni, Dan Marino '79, and Marc Bulger '95). This is a great pickup for the Cards, I would look for Sunseri to be rated as a 4 star pickup.
RockPride Posted May 19, 2007 Author Posted May 19, 2007 After reading through some stuff...these are other names that we are likely to hear more from.... Ben Cotton - 6'6" 217 lb. TE from Ames, Iowa (Offered), Top Three (Wisconsin, Louisville, Iowa) Damion Dixon - 6'4" 186 lb. WR from Port Allen, LA (not offered yet) has been offerred by Auburn and Florida. Hehas 4.5 speed and had almost 1,000 yards receiving in an option system. Jonas Gray - 5'10" 215 lb. RB from Detroit (Mich.) Country Day (will be offerred soon) mentions Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota, Purdue, Colorado, Penn State and Michigan as well....says that Louisville, PSU, and UM are likely to be in his early Top 3. Jacob Charest - 6'3" 190 lb. QB from Mathews (N.C.) Butler High School has Louisville at the top of his list with the likes of Cal, Illinois, Akron, Oregon, and NC A&T..... A great early start....good job coaches.
gametime Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 I've heard Cincy St X RB Darius Ashley is just waiting on an offer...
colonel-fan Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 I've heard Cincy St X RB Darius Ashley is just waiting on an offer... Ashlley would be a very nice pick up for the Cards.
02Ram54 Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Sunseri is listed with 4.6 40 speed, and had an offer from Florida State.
02Ram54 Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 He's a self-described drop back passer with some speed to improvise. Coach's son, student of the game, and a good arm. He also plans to help Louisville recruit in PA, and he has a good target in mind.
strongopenyon Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 I recently saw Sunseri at a camp and, for all the hype I had been hearing about him, I was very unimpressed. Listed at 6'2"/200 pounds. Both height and weight appear to be rather generous. He might end up being a great player, but I don't see any more than 2-star ability right now.
NHS BIG DADDY Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 PA usually has some nice talent up there but its usually stays within the big 11 it seems.
TheDeuce Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 Sounds like Coach K is doing a great job on the recruiting front so far...:thumb:
RockPride Posted May 20, 2007 Author Posted May 20, 2007 Scout has him as a 1 star QB. Still early. He will be much higher on the "other" site.
RockPride Posted May 20, 2007 Author Posted May 20, 2007 You can "sense" the UL knocks already....
letabrotherspeak Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 Not knocking the kid, but I think the projection of a 4 star QB is off.
02Ram54 Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 Scout has him as a 1 star QB. Still early. I'd say so, since the 1 star is a non-evaluated designation. I know you know that, that's just for the folks at home playing along. :thumb:
