Duke is a new elite team. UK, UCLA and UNC are top 3 elite teams imo. Duke is a new elite as of 20 years, Indiana is more of an older elite and starting to strive again. Kansas would probably be my 4th elite of all time team.

UK is down when compared to the elite status it is usally in but elite teams bounce back and we will bounce back. Its just now been 10 years since our last championship.

Well considering UK was winning National Championships(48', 49',51', 58') before Duke ever reached the final four (first in 63' which isnt anything to be ashamed of). Then they didnt win their first National Championship till 91'. Coach K took over then Duke started becoming what I considered elite. He has been there now for 27 years. The 91' championship would just be alomst 18 years ago so yeah I consider them new when talking about elite.

 

1963-64' season is when UCLA joined the crowd. No team can be considered elite imo till they win a national championship and stay consistant over a long period of time, and 20 years is just a rookie when considering UK's and UCLA's been in the running a lot longer. UNC even won one in 1936 so do the math there then talk about elite.

Actually 30 years ago Duke was in the championship game. UK is an elite program.

UK is elite period.

UNC and UCLA. Maybe also...gag...Kansas...I hate them. Based on combination of past history and recent history (last 5 years).
