Ryle beats New Cath 8-2 tonight in JV tourney and will face winner of Conner-Highlands game.

Ryle gets yet another outstanding pitching performance, backed with some first-rate defense and some timely hitting.

Congrats to the young Raiders.....go get em.

Why did RYLE and NCC play tonight? Bracket has them on Tuesday May 15th.

Scott -vs- Holmes, Lloyd -vs- Dixie, and Brossart -vs- Simon Kenton only games scheduled for tonight. Anyone heard the results of any of those games?

Playing early will definitely give RYLE some time to rest arms, which is nice for them. Good win for RYLE as NCC had a solid team. RYLE is solid as well. Hope the Umps will allow players to decide the games and not their calls.....Umps lately have been horribly (both ways).

Semi-Finals Prediction:

Holy Cross –vs- Campbell Co.

Brossart/St. Henry –vs- RYLE

We shall see.....

That is why they are JV umps. They are "up and coming stars" also. Understand that JV umps work JV games. Just like Varsity Umps work varsity games. I can tell you from working some varsity games this year... we were the bright spot in the game.... if you know what I mean.

So give the guys in blue an opportunity to work on thier game and expect them to give 100% but also boot one every once in a while. Would you yell at your JV shortstop for giving 100% but also booting one.... NO!!! So give the same slack to the up and coming men in blue. They have had to be very patient with this year working most games one man crew, and also working almost every day of the week.

For what it is worth bgpreppy, I have watched some freshman and JV games this year and believe the umps have done a pretty good job. Remember, in most cases, umpires are doing these games alone. (1 ump behind plate); very difficult at the high school level.

Watched the St. Henry vs Calvary freshmen prior to the CovCath and St. Henry varsity game, and the umpire who did the Freshmen game did an outstanding job of teaching the coaches of both teams the rules of the game. One coach complained about the batter standing in the way of the catcher trying to throw the ball to third base on a steal attempt (he was clearly in the batters box), and the other claimed a run scored as the first baseman tagged the runner out at first base on a ground ball that he fielded instead of tagging the base for the third out of the inning. Of course both times the ump was correct, and he was really nice in explaining the rules to the coaches...........Good job blue, and I told him so after the game.....

I understand that but when you're getting paid the quality should be much higher.....effort just doesn't cut it!

Is there a bracket online? IF so, can someone provide a link? More specifically, what did Beechwood do last night (monday)?

Beechwood plays Tuesday night.

Who did Ryle throw last night?

Camels advace to the next round with a 13-3 win over Ludlow in 5 innings.

Could be your calling:thumb: If you are qualified enough to critique them, your obviously qualified enough to step behind the plate and show them how it should be done.

Why so many JV games with only one ump this year? In the past, going back several years, JV games almost always had two umps. Are they hurting for numbers?
