Is Lawrence the pre-season favorite for their district??

I would think Boyd Co. would be.

I have heard talk that Greenup has/is installing 'tony franklins' offense

Probably too much politics going on up there with who plays and what not to worry about them. :D

Just kidding. I really don't understand why Greenup is not better at football than what they are really.

Out of the East are your top four:

1) Lex. Cath

2) Boyle

3) Bell

4) Rock

Out of the West are your next couple in any order:

Warren East

Franklin Simpson

Noth Bullitt

Bullitt East

The rest of the mix, all of whom I assume could knock any of the West Teams down a peg:

Lone Oak

Harrison Co.

Franklin Co.

Lou. Western

Calloway County would be my pick to beat Lone Oak in their district.

I'm hearing some really good things from the Knox Central camp after spring football concerning team speed and strength. Who knows if that will translate into a top ten ranking but this is definitely an up and comer.

KC is very well coached. I think before long they will be a powerhouse!

1. Lawrence

2. Boyd

3. Greenup

4. Rowan

IMO:ylsuper:

I will agree with Super on this one. Don't count Boyle County out. The Rebels play as tough of schedule as you'll find. They will definitely be battle tested come playoff time. We return a senior quarterback, and several juniors that are real playmakers. Boyle will definitely make some noise this year.

Go Rebels.

Here is their schedule:

Week One- Bowling Green @WKU

Week Two- Henry Clay

Week Three- Danville

Week Four- Lafayette

Week Five- Lexington Catholic

Week Six- Bye

Week Seven- Mercer Co.

Week Eight- West Jessamine

Week Nine- East Jessamine

Week Ten- Pulaski Southwestern

Week Eleven- Dunbar

I think Calloway is a perfect example of the West...just about anyone has a shot to come out of this side of the state.

To me, looking at the East half of 4A, I think it could greatly resemble the Western half of 3A during the late 80’s and early to mid 90's, where Paducah, BG, Owensboro, Warren Central, Franklin Simpson and Hopkinsville were all fielding phenomenal teams that would all bust each other up so much during the early rounds that by the time one of them made it to the semi's they were worn paper thin, and big-gamed out.

Don't count them in either. Wow! What a schedule.

I hope they can make the playoffs! What a brutal schedule:eek:

UK does not play as tough of a schedule. What does not kill you only makes you better in the playoffs.

North Bullitt has a lot of talent returning from last years 7-4 team. Tremendous 26 pick, R.D. Reynolds at safety and QB. Last years #4 rusher with 2,143 yds, Dalton Cissell at RB. 2 time 1st team All-District OT Corey Downing 6'1" 280 lbs. 3 yr starter Brandon Daniels at OLB. 6'4" 270 lb Jimmy Blandford, 3 yr starter, who is on getting tons of mail from D1 schools. 2 yr starter at OT Darrell Parker 6'0" 270 lbs. In all, 17 of 22 starting positions return. Have to prove they can win in post-season, but they do have the tools to make a lot of noise this year.

Here is the 4A alignment:

CLASS 4A

District-4-1- Calloway County, Hopkins County Central, Lone Oak, Muhlenberg North

District-4-2- Allen County-Scottsville, Franklin-Simpson, Logan County, Russell County, Warren East

District-4-3- Atherton, Breckinridge County, Fairdale, Valley, Western

District-4-4- Bullitt East, Larue County, Marion County, North Bullitt

District-4-5- Bourbon County, Franklin County, Harrison County, Pendleton County

District-4-6- Boyle County, East Jessamine, Lexington Catholic, West Jessamine

District-4-7- Bell County, Knox Central, Madison Southern, McCreary Central, Rockcastle County

District-4-8- Boyd County, Greenup County, Lawrence County, Rowan County

Calloway Co.

Warren E.

Western

Bullitt E.

Harrison Co.

Lex. Cath.

Bell Co.

Boyd Co.

I think these are the teams that will win their districts. Remember to win the district now the way they have the playoff system is to win the 2nd. round game.

Don't count them in either. Wow! What a schedule.

With only 4 teams in their district. I already have them penciled in. The question is....... what seed will they be? The tuff schedule can work both ways. Prepaired you for the playoffs, or beat you up so bad you can not compete at your best when it counts. Only time will tell what the answer is. I'm hoping that it's the first part.
