All "A" State?

Featured Replies

The All "A" State games begin this Saturday. Does anyone have any thoughts about who will be sitting in the winners seat on Sunday night?

I have to go w/the defending All A state champs, Beechwood. Until someone knocks them off they are my favorite. They must get past a good LCA team today to get to the big show on Sat. W/Elliott ready to go, there chances look very good to win today, one run, one inning and it's over and on to Sat.

I will be Pulling for the ADs.It's going to be hard picking the winner of this one.:thumb:

They will absolutely have their hands full with Owensboro Catholic, but I expect Witten will be on the mound, which always gives them a chance. Should be a great first round game.

Have all the sectional games been played ? If so who are the winners ? Who plays each other at Applebees ?

When are the rest of the Regional finals scheduled to be played? Are there different pitching rules for the State Tournament?

I think the some of the regional finals not played are going to be played tonight.

I have seen O-Cath, Danville, and Beechwood all play this year. Each has it good points and bad.

O-Cath from watching them play Friday night, I came away not very impressed with their fielding. I believe they had something like 5/6 errors in their loss to CovCath, but they did have some very good pitching and some good bats.

Danville from watching them play Saturday afternoon, I came away impressed with their bats and they could field the ball well in a very, very windy day. Now their pitching, I wasn't that impressed, but then again it was their second game of the weekend.

Beechwood from watching them play I am concerned about their youth in a close and important game. With losing what I thought was their best pitcher or at least second best pitcher it will hurt them. Beechwood will need their young guys to come up big, but if they do, they will be tough to beat.

The All "A" Classic Baseball should see some very good games and matchups...

Beechwood just beat Lex Christian by 1. Sorry I don't know the particulars.

Allow me! Elliott for BHS and a very hard throwing lefty for LCA. Neither team hitting, bottom of the 12th, runners on 1st/2nd w/one out. Chas Hyde hits a bouncer to 1st that takes a great hop over the first baseman's head, Slusher coming all the way from second to score.

Chas Hyde, IMO, player of the game. He had the first hit against LCA/1st RBI when the game started at Freedom last week to get things rolling, had another hit later, made two great catches in LF. Then today, w/LCA's best hitter up, cuts a ball off in LC and comes up throwing to gun him down at 2nd where that little 8th grader stands in there like a SR and tags him out.

Beechwood will try to repeat w/a very young and inexperienced team who just shows up and plays. W/in a weeks time they have played the #1 team in the state(L 10-4 w/numerous 1st inning errors) then beat #20 Apollo and beat #5 LCA. Don't know much about the top half of the brackets but I do know that Danville/O'Cath have to square off in the first game. The Tigers have a shot.

Did the umpires let Beechwood re-enter their DH?

Here it is if the scores I found were for the all A tourney:

Williamsburg/Cambellsville 10am

Bath Co/Beechwood 12:30pm Winners on Sun 12:30pm

Danville/OwenCath 3pm

Russellville/Louis HC 5:30pm Winners on Sun 2:30pm

Championship on Sun at 4:30pm

Danville v. O-Cath. Doesn't that mean that iJames will be batting off of Witten? Nice matchup.
